meh double sided tape/velcro makes sure if you accidentally nudge the case it won't move.

either way is fine as obviously SSDs have no moving parts.

I personally never had a processor fail on me from regular use. For an intel processor I can't think of any physical damage that you would not notice if you bought one. A used like new processor could possibly mean a damaged box, but new processor. If you do buy one I am pretty sure there no warranty on the processor because it was marked used and you can only get refund from Amazon if you follow the return policy(maybe 30 days?). If you do buy the Amazon used processor make sure you have all your computer parts ready just to make sure the processor works stable and correctly.

depends how you define physical dmg. you could hook the cpu up to a 9v battery and no one would know by looking at it.

but yeah cpu's dying from everyday use doesn't really happen and it is likely it is an open box return or just a dented box. or just a label to sell it at a lower price.

Now that I have her up and running, do you think that my CD Drive could bottle neck? I'm not sure if I should wait for a Steam Sale or take advantage of Skyrim for PC on Amazon for $30? Also, would it be advantageous to install Skyrim on the SSD or just leave it on the 7200 RPM HD?

With today's advancements in ram and CPU technologies, the cd drive is always a bottleneck. I don't know if Wikipedia is right or not, but it says DVD read speeds are around 1.32 MB/s comparing to SSD that read faster than 100 MB/s. Right now the main reasons to use a CD drive is to burn images of Apps/Operating Systems, music cd for the car, backup your files, and for installing physical copies of games.

If you buy Skyrim for PC on Amazon, it will come with a Steam key, so go for it. Depending on your internet speeds, it might be even faster to install the game from the DVD.

SSD = Games load up faster, less waiting at load screens
Hard Drive = Does not use precious SSD space, may be slighter slower when playing Unreal engine games(Borderlands, Bioshock)
I would check out the App Steam Mover as you can install all your games on your hard drive and move over any games you currently play on the SSD. I put the games that load the slowest or play the most often on my SSD.

Ah I see. So every copy of Skyrim comes with a steam key I assume?
