eBay: NO Insertion Fee and NO Final Value Fee on ONE item listed through mobile app Feb 12-14 YMMV

Lots of people on this thread managed to list for the allowed # of days, so they must have been able to either confirm or change the setting through mobile. You're the first to claim the menu is "hidden". Couldn't be user error, right?

BBB is as useful as a one-legged man in a butt-kicking contest.

I'm surprised another ebay alternative hasn't caught on. The ebay fees are ridiculous. I can't believe how greedy they are. Then they hit you on the back end with the paypal fee too. I wouldn't have even listed if not for the free listing I thought I was going to get

I'm sure making the 30 day listing not part of this promotion and that being the default listing method was a coincidence right? They expect people to not know how to change it. No need to be a jerk about it. If you click on the mobile app you will clearly see you it's not very user friendly. You have to click on the listing box and then click the down arrow to even see the option to change the number of days. It's hidden until you click around in there

I started selling stuff on craigslist, I know you don't get as much exposure as ebay but it's free and cash deal only. You don't have to worry about fees, printing label, shipping, etc.

I'm not aware of 30-day listings ever been included in promotions, mobile or otherwise. Doesn't mobile show you what you're committing to before you confirm the listing?

Each site has its pros and cons. Depending on the product, eBay's counter argument would be you don't have to worry about being robbed, or someone not showing up, or someone haggling you down on price, etc, etc. Or, you don't have to worry about someone being at your home, if its a large item, such as furniture, big screen TV, appliances, etc.

Im VERY leary of someone who says they are interested, lets say an old stove, come by, verify its good, and then say let me think about it and never hear from them again. Great way for someone to scope out for whatever reason.

I always meet in a public place for smaller items and if I have to sell a large item, I leave it outside for people to look at it

My item sold, but when the person paid with paypal, there was a fee accepting paypal as pament. Since when? Sorry I haven't sold on eBay in while.

Since many years ago.

Yes, eBay charges you a fee for letting you list and sell your item. PayPal charges you a fee for handling the payment transaction. If you use some other payment service, or your own merchant account, or the buyer asks to pay with a money order and you agree, then PayPal gets nothing because they wouldn't be involved.
