To be 100% honest with you, I pay tax on every thing I purchase...even out of state stuff that is suppose to be tax free, I still pay tax on it...it is called use tax and I pay it directly to the BOE. Yeah, I know, 99% of Californians do not pay the usage tax, because it is never enforced. I pay it to maintain a clear conscience. The irony of paying tax in California is this: we pay the highest state tax in the union, yet experience the worst of the worst fiscal management due to horrific mismanagement of crooked politicians. Sometime I wish I could move out of there. Soar |

BTW, you got me. I think I would order 4 more. Should I start a computer repair business after all these free fans (case and CPU)?

LOL about that computer repair business. Well, I do have a computer business on the side, so that is why these free deals are so attractive. I am not so sure I would trust one of these CPU coolers on an Intel chip [I haven't really seen enough reviews or read enough feedback, or even tried one of these CPU coolers yet]. My plan is to use a couple of these CPU cooler fans in computer cases to simply move more air for a few months and see how they perform. If they appear to work well, I may try one on an Intel CPU chip in an HTCP rig. These fans are easily modifiable to use as case cooling fans. I posted some pics and ideas in post #59 here: http://slickdeals.net/f/5833332-A...ate?page=4 I am reposting the pics for you here. Here's a couple of suggestions I made: I believe these fans can be modified to use inside a computer case to move more air. There appears to be enough plastic to drill some holes and make a special mount [see pic]. Or, people could remove the top shroud that the fan connects to by separating it from the bottom mounting portion, and then this fan is easily modifiable for use as a case fan [see pic 2]. Have a good one everyone! Soar Last edited by soarwitheagles; 02-12-2013 at 06:44 PM.. |

How hard is to get certified to teach in CA? I taught electronics in some other place but am afraid to pick up that path.
As for repair business, mobile device repair business looks more appealing. Thank you for your informative and inspiring posts. Good day.

You enable them by throwing more money at the politicians. Knowing they are crooked politicians how can you continue to go out of your way to support them and in doing so create in you a clear conscience? Seems legalistic to me. No offense, just offering another angle from the viewing glass... ~S |

I'm still waiting to get my rebate from the thermal paste offer back in November from this rebate company. I'll be calling them today since there is no way to email them. Mine still says processing. Not sure I want to chance another $80 and have it held hostage for over 10 weeks.
Thanks to SD, 7 new and 4 refurb HP TP for friends and family.

Example: I just RMA'd a brand new Gigabyte 970A-D3 that had a Northbridge chip burning in at 73c...most of the Gigabyte AMD MB's appear to have Northbridge chips that run hotter than I like. Placing one of these fans in a manner that blows directly upon the NB will help reduce the temperature.
I also believe there is a line or perhaps I should say a limit, that a government crosses where the mismanagement is so gross, so unjust, so wrong, that taxes should not longer be paid [example: when the 13 colonies finally said absolutely NO to England]. To be honest with you, I do not know where the line is that I should stop paying taxes or begin to withhold taxes from a government that is misusing our tax dollar. Becoming credentialed to teach in CA has different requirements according to the subject matter being taught. Every subject matter has different requirements that must be met to obtain a credential from the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing. Unfortunately, I felt as if I had to jump through so many hoops to obtain my credential. In the end, I suppose it was worth it. I learned a lot that I can use every day, but some of the stuff was totally unrelated to my subject matter. Here are some of the subject matters people can be credentialed to teach: English Science Math Language Arts History/Social Studies Kinesiology Spanish Chinese Industrial Arts Art Music Etc. You can also obtain a multiple subject teaching credential. If you desire to obtain a teaching credential to teach in California Public Schools, you would want to go to the counseling department of any State University, and they would gladly draw the academic map that you would need to follow. This usually entails a full BS or BA centered in the core of your subject matter, then completion of a 6 month-2 year student teaching program. Then you could legally teach anywhere from K-12th, and even some college level classes. How hard is it? I suppose that depends upon how fast you would like to complete the program. Some students take their time and only take a couple of classes a semester. I chose the fast track. I went to the university from 7 am until 11pm 6 days a week for two full years and burned right through the program and graduated with some of the highest honors possible. But not everyone chooses that type of torture! You can also take your time and do it little by little. Hope this helps! Soar Last edited by soarwitheagles; 02-13-2013 at 04:01 AM.. |
