Anyone think that the Nikon D600 will ever go on sale? I have a Canon T1i, and I want to step it up to a full frame.. and I think jumping ship to Nikon is the best choice simply because it seems like a more "bang for your buck" type of company lately when compared to Canon's latest offerings. I'm not "too" heavily invested with canon lens wise.. just have a 50mm 1.4, 90mm macro 2.8, and the kit 18-55mm. Shouldn't be too hard to sell on eBay or CL. Definitely going to go to a store and try out the D600 see if I like how it handles.. but spec wise it seems superior to the 6D. Comments, questions, concerns? lol

http://m.costco.com/Nikon-D600-Fu...12382.html This might help. Idk much about Nikon. It intimidates the heck out of me.

Sometimes it's important to understand exactly how much you don't know.

Damn this is tempting. Basically $1600 (or even a little less) after selling the lens. Hmmmm
![]() Wow. Didn't even notice the free gifts. Not to mention cashback... Can't. Resist.
They were basically giving it away two months ago. Last edited by 575rider; 02-12-2013 at 10:19 AM.. Reason: Automerged Doublepost |

Reading through reviews on Amazon for the D600 and 6D, it seems like scales tip towards getting the 6D, a lot higher percentage of negative reviews for the D600. |

you will be lucky if you can even sell the stock len for 700. A lot of people are selling off the stock len and it isn't worth much. To my advise, I rather keep it. I have a 6D and end up keeping the 24-105 cause of the extra reach. It is a good walk around len compare to the 24-70 2.8f. Yes you get a f stop faster but you lose the extra reach. |

I own the 6D for one month and I got to say it is the best camera I have used. Coming from T2i to 7D to 6D. Yes, youd are right if you have Canon len, then you are stuck with that brand unless you sell all your gear. But the 6D is amazing. If you have the extra 1k then go with 5dM3 but for what general people are using for, the 6D is more then enough |

Hmm... interesting about the Amazon reviews. I think I remember reading that the D600 had some kind of manufacturing problem, but Nikon warranties them no problem. I think the 6D has better video though.. could be wrong. Gotta do some more research. Video is definitely an appealing feature to me.

The biggest gripe I find people have is that lack of cross-type sensors for the 6D. I wonder how "big" of a deal that really is.. maybe its something more that a professional would notice and not a "moderate" enthusiast like my self...
Comments anyone (about cross-type sensors -- usefulness, etc.) ? |
|
The cross type is more for moving subject. From what I have read the 6D one -AF is pretty good and some say even better then the 5Dmk3. When I was using the AF cross type it isn't bad, pretty close to my 7D. |
