If I'm not mistaken Green drives have always been less than 7200RPM... they are supposed to be "green", using less energy.

Not optimal and can cause problems with a NAS device. This is the old drive that has been replace by the EZRX series that got much better ratings. Probably just Newegg clearing out their warehouses.

I know but since the price of 2TB has recently constantly been staying at $109, I have a feeling the 3TB will follow soon $129 should be a steal for the them.

This deal is nice, these green drives are generally reliable in my experience. Plus it is fully supported with my Netgear ReadyNAS.

The best data I can find is 300,000 hours MTBF http://eshop.macsales.com/item/We.../WD20EARX/ so ~30 years.

RAID0 just means you stripe data multiple disks (e.g. block1 writes to disk0 and block2 writes to disk1) The physical disk should be of no consequence to the RAID controller. But if you want to confirm support then check the RAID controllers documentation. If it is software RAID...then I wouldn't worry.
