The difference is that one is Zuiko (Four Thirds) and ours here is M.Zuiko which is Micro Four Thirds.

As mentioned, you have to look at multiple different things:

-Zuiko lenses are for the old, dead 4/3 SLR system, while M.Zuiko lenses are for the micro 4/3 cameras


-The difference between the m.zuiko 40-150mm and m.zuiko 40-150mm R is pretty much nothing, just looks. They made the new R lenses because the initial midrange lenses for the micro 4/3 system were crappy and unsuitable for video. So, the 14-42mm that comes with most cameras was redesigned and given the R designation. However, the 40-150mm was designed well enough from the outset that it already performed to R standards, so it was given a different look, and they renamed it without changing anything mechanically.

man, this is such a good deal, my fingers are twitchy. i really dont need this as i am invested in nex as well. but still have the GF3 with the 20mm lens. together with this it will be a complete set. but i just wont use it much at all, if any. but then its only 99..

For this price, I had to pull the trigger on this one. Just bought a silver bundle and can't be more excited!!! I currently only have the Olympus M.Zuiko 17mm and my dad has been nagging me to get a zoom lens and this was perfect timing! Anyone have this thing and have any opinions on it?

I smiled when I read this because I too am so itchy... Curse you Slickdeals! Look, just nobody tell the wife. Oh, she is just going to see the bank statement anyway. I bet I will get some great sunset pics from the sliding door of my new home (a van parked down by the river).

In truth, this is a perfect match for my new GF5 which I also bought because of Slickdeals. I love the camera and so I guess I can't curse my beloved Slickdeals so much for my deal hoarding.

Plastic mount is disappointing but for the price it's nice

This is the lens that came in the EPL-1 kits a lot of us got in on. Good lens for the price.
