Couple quick comments:
Good price. Waterproof membrane should make them actually waterproof. Usually don't see that at this price. 200 grams thinsulate is ok for most things. If you stand around at 30 degrees for an hour, your feet will get cold but as long as you are active, it should be fine. Check the weight for your application. I ended up buying hiking boots because my hunting boots were too heavy to hike in. Yes, it can be done, and yes it sucks hiking in a pair of boots that weigh over 3 pounds. When you hunt, you stand around a lot, you need the warmth and the weight isn't a big deal. Just make sure of your purpose before you buy. Light hiking boots are wonderful to wear every day in the winter too if there is any snow/slush/salt where you walk. But heavy boots suck to wear daily. Amazon lists shipping weight at 2 pounds. Can't be accurate so look around. Deal seems dead anyway BTW. Can't even find the product on the Timberland site even with a search. Last edited by clearanceman; 02-12-2013 at 10:16 AM.. |

Returns
I just spoke to a rep and he told me that they accept returns for all shoes, even these. Final sale is only if custom boots are ordered and stuff like that. But yeah, these are definitely cool for returns. Even said so on the product description.. before the page got taken down haha. |

I also sent an email to Timberland regarding the tax (NYC) on my order.
This is the response I got: "Thank you for your order #.... We have submitted a request on your behalf to look into your tax issue. Your request identification number is .... Please allow 3-5 business days for the request to be completed and we will contact you through email with a response." So I guess we'll see if I get my tax back. |

The boots arrived today. Gotta say for $36 these are very very nice! happy with the purchase!
They're true to size for me. They actually look pretty nice even though I would've preferred a darker color. The boot feels hefty but not heavy. The tread pattern looks like it'll have no problem with getting through the white stuff. The 200g of Primaloft insulation should keep my feet nice and toasty. Haven't tested it for warmth outdoors but the lining inside is very soft and comfortable. Felt good just walking around the house. Oh, and they're waterproof! Thanks again OP! |
