That's what I do. Perfectly safe and easy to do. Should end up paying about $.25/cartridge. But honestly, even at $.40/cartridge, you're doing just fine.

Though it's only $5, it can make a big difference on whether the deal is worthwhile or not. For example:

Without the promo (assuming premier): Recycle 20 cartridges, get a $40 reward. End the month up $40.

With the promo (assuming premier): Spend $50 in ink (pay tax), get $5 back in rewards. Recycle 20 cartridges, get an $80 reward. End the month up $35 (plus the ink, minus the tax).

So, if you're unable (or unwilling, or whatever) to offload the ink, it might be better for you to avoid taking advantage of the promo since it will cost you an extra $5+.

With the double-double, it's pretty much a break-even proposition no matter what you do with the ink.

That's the whole plan. Buy them from eBay.
- Get the lot that has more carts in it.
- Find a seller that is willing for a "Best Offer", if you find one, don't low ball him. Give him about 10% off his asking price. If he accepts, good. else, he'll counter with 5% off or so.
- Should always be less than 20c/cart in the end.

Last lot I bought costed me 15c. 380 carts for about 55. He asked for $60, I offered $50 and we settled for 55

Thanks for the quick reply. Just one more question. Is there something to be aware of before buying cartridges? They should be HP brand but nothing else right? Like no HP 02 Black or colour etc...

They do not have to be HP branded. Staples accepts any type of cartridge.

They don't even have to be HP. Anything works at staples.

I know this is has been asked before, but I'm having a hard to finding a definitive answer.

Does a rewards check have to be used in 2 attempts/transactions? and if not, then no balance will be issued after the 2nd transaction?

...and try to get HP ones if you can cuz it might help you in the HP generic ink recycling promotions.
