1. Yeah, they've been this price before (mid-July according to CCC), but they're back and worth it.
2. Unless you need the mic for smartphone use, I recommend the non-mic for cable durability.
3. Very good reviews and many pages of comments on Headfi [head-fi.org]. General consensus seems to be strong bass, but not excessive. 'The lows have fantastic quantity and especially quality to them, they don't bleed over into the mid range' ...
