Yep - just be careful if you're trying to be cute and doing stuff that may get coded as cash equivalents in order to meet spend (aka funding brokerage account, bank account, etc) and get hit with fees.



$250 is about as high as I've seen this particular card.



Amex is generally pretty good if you SM them. But, as with past offers, you generally do not qualify for a bonus if you have a card in the same family, or have had one in the last 90 days. So groupings like charge family, zync/green/gold/plat, and biz/gold biz, and blue cash/blue cash express/blue cash preferred etc are problematic. Reps have been known to interpret the 90 day rule like you have, as in from last app, but there are plenty on FT that have been denied for same family too. This is definitely YMMV if you have another of the same credit family.



This all depends how the register is coded. It is even about which section the register is in. You just got to go in and test the various kinds with dummy purchases. At my local super walmart, self checkout no, regular checkout no, pharmacy yes, customer service desk no. Other people have reported similar situations with Target in terms of coding. I have not seen any reports about Costco ever reporting at 5-6% however.

The best I got is NFL card. Spend $1000 in 3 months and get $400 bonus. No annual fee. Has anyone had a better deal?

Meaning that, if I currently have had the BCE for more than 90 days, I could close it, apply for the BCP, and get the bonus? Thanks.
