I've been checking this site occasionally to see what new credit card offers show up.

https://www.creditcards.com/cardmatch

Today I received an offer for, applied, and was approved for what is the best yet (non-targeted)
Quote :
Blue Cash Everyday offer:

$150 bonus cashback with $500 spend in 3 months
15 months of 0% purchase apr, then 12.99%

This card has no annual fee and 3% cashback on groceries (first $6000 annually - meaning a maximum of $180).
I also received the following
Quote :
Blue Cash Preferred offer:

$250 bonus cashback with $1000 spend in 3 months
15 months of 0% purchase apr

This card has a $75 annual fee (probably not waived first year), and 6% cashback on groceries (first $6000 annually - meaning a maximum of $360).
You can redeem reward dollars for statement credits in increments of $25 whenever your total available reward dollar balance is $25 or more.

Worth checking if you're interested in these offers:
https://www.creditcards.com/cardmatch
DO NOT enter SSN, just name and address.

You may need to click on the offer link multiple times, I keep getting "Amex cannot find the page you're looking for" or similar messages.

If Creditcards.com doesn't match you with the specific offers (possibly because you have one or more existing AmEx cards, even though they are not these particular cards), you can try the following trick:

1) You'll need to find someone and get their permission to do this trick, preferably someone with few or no existing American Express card accounts.
2) Fill in the form with that someone's information and complete the registration process at https://www.creditcards.com/cardmatch. Do this in the incognito/private mode browser. (You could also try using a different browser or clearing your cookies.)
3) After completing the registration, the results should be posted on a Card Matches page. Scroll down the list of general credit card choices. Click the Apply Now link to select the card that you want.
4) You'll be linked to the specific card offer. However, the offer will be pre-filled in with the name of the person that you registered under Creditcards.com and you can't change the name. (Not yet, anyway Wink)
Now comes the trick.
5) Wait. DO NOT CLOSE THE BROWSER! The link only works from the browser that the creditcards.com search was run from due to cookies. If you try to access it from anything else, you will get an error.
6) After a period of time (20 minutes to several hours), the specific card offer page will go blank with a "SESSION EXPIRE" message. Depending on which web browser you used, either:
a. In the same browser, click on the 'Apply Now' button again from the Card Matches page. The specific card offer application form should be blank and you can now proceed to fill it all in with your info; or
b. From the "SESSION EXPIRE" page, hit the back button to return back to the specific card offer page (hit the refresh button, if prompted). Note: You may need to hit the back button more than once to return to the specific card offer page. The application form should now be blank and you can fill it in with your personal information.
c. If the form isn't blank, then keep on waiting (without refreshing your original browser) and try steps 6a or 6b again. Waiting times vary.
Note: This trick only works if that "someone" you get permission from is eligible for the offer. It's like taking advantage of someone else's targeted offer. And as always, YMMV.

Thanks to Phonic for this tip. http://slickdeals.net/forums/showpost.php?p=64976344&postcount=527

AMEX has a 3x Credit Limit Increase (CLI) policy (up to 25k total exposure with a soft pull only) after the 61 day of approval. If denied you must wait 90 days for another try. Try to put decent usage and a couple big payments to get the CLI. Go to myfico forums or creditboards for more info. I tripled my initial limit without a hard pull.

If anyone isn't sure about which card better meets their spending habits, here's a spreadsheet where you can plugin your annual spend for different categories and you can see which card will give you the biggest benefit (Blue Cash Everyday/Blue Cash Preferred/Costco TrueEarnings/Sallie Mae Rewards).

Input spending in the bottom fields, you'll see the middle fields change to reflect the cash back in each category, and the yellow fields will show you your total cash back taking into account the annual fee on the Blue Cash Preferred. The calculations include annual spending caps (e.g. 6% on $6k groceries, then 1%).

It may be hard to find someone to answer that since these are both recent products. The application does say this, however:
Quote :
Welcome bonus offer not available to applicants who have had this product within the last 12 months or any other Consumer Blue Cash® Card account within the last 90 days.
Implying you are eligible for the bonus if you opened the BCE more than 90 days ago. It doesn't specify that you need to close your other open card, so you should receive it if you're approved, IMO, but perhaps you should secure message AMEX before applying.

Would Costco Gas count on the 3% CB? I've been using my Amex to pay at Costco gaspumps ever since I got it.

no, costco gas is not 3% on regular amex cards. All warehouse purchases are normal cashback rate of 1% i guess

No, any amount over $6,000 annually will get only 1%.
Incorrect, the $6000 cap was instituted this year on groceries alone. You still get unlimited 3% cash back on gas and department stores. 1% on everything else. This card was better last year, but last year only had a $150 sign up bonus.

doesn't say that its waived anywhere, if you apply over the phone you could probably get them to promise it though. worse case scenario you just say "i was told the fee would be waived" and they'll probably do it

I have 1 BCE. Can I apply for another BCE (not BCP), and use 2 cards in the same time? As I know, Discover accepts this way.
