All depends on the power requirements of said tools, but most people use their power tools with REGULAR extension cords, so you should be fine in most cases.

The store on 40 or 355? Store on 355 showed none online...stopped by at 5pm and customer service desk said they had 23 in stock. I found in aisle 26 and grabbed two, another SD'er grabbed 5 and random guy saw us buying these and grabbed 3 after seeing they were a deal. Employee watched us and grabbed last 3 cases (12 cords) to put on floor and mentioned that they have been that price for weeks and was surprised by the sudden interest.

Grabbed the last $59 Porter- Cable compressor at the 40 store last week...http://slickdeals.net/f/5836732-Porter-Cable-3-5-Gal-135-psi-Pancake-Compressor-59-00-Home-Depot-B-M-YMMV?v=1

I ordered online with shipping to home and received a shipping confirmation yesterday. I ordered early when this thread was in the first page.

i just got an email saying the order was cancelled...looking into it now Frown

UPDATE: Store was sold out, so they voided the order. Seems like HD has no system to get the order otherwise filled. So, I decided to complain on their FB page. That led to someone from TeamSocial@homedepot.com asking for me to contact them directly. If they can ship these to me at no additional charge, that would be nice. To be continued...

Yes, 15A would be fine. Many tools only pull that under intense load, and the power cord couldn't care less. Might get a little warm.

I use to pull 30A through a 12ga extension cord for hours at a time, the problem is not the cord, it's the connectors on the ends which are crimped. If they aren't crimped well, that's what gets hot, not the conductors. You could pull 15A through 18 gauge wire over 75 feet, keep the insulation nice and warm and supple. EEK! (actually, you'd only lose about 100 watts, or about 1 W/foot.

30 Amps through a 12/3 extension cord? I don't think so bro. The cable would melt, trip the breaker or even catch on fire. I've seen it happen a repeated number of times by my idiot friends, family and co workers.

This video [youtube.com] shows how to wrap a cord properly, any other method usually results in twists/damage to the cord. It's really easy too.
Good idea, I was expecting a braid but his O/U technique looks good. I have to do that with my stiff pressure washer hose, it just naturally does over and under. I still braid most air hoses but using the elbow wrap has really twisted up my heavy power cords. I try not to run any tool on anything under 12 gauge wire. This would be great for generators since I like the noisy things as far away as possible.

Warning.. I picked this up at my local HD.

The 2-pack that they're referring to is the 75 foot cord and the 2-foot tri tap!!!
You will not get 2-75 foot extension cords!!!
