So this seems like a good deal... I can't find any cons, and its 130 cheaper than most others that have a lot of the same stats.
Someone want to post a little why not? Inputs is the only thing that seems off-putting. |

These are A- grade panels from LG, same as the Catleaps. You must have more than 5 dead pixels in the peripheral areas or 1 dead pixel in the center before it's faulty, and there may be a chance of dust behind the panel or backlight bleed. Also to note, power supply is external to the monitor, and the stand has limited adjustment.
It's basically a gamble.. you might get a 100% perfect screen, or you might get a mostly good screen. If the aforementioned issues would not be a bother, this is perfect. |

I had a Catleap (sold almost immediately) and backlight bleed is an understatement. It was so bad that the display did not have uniform color.

My Catleap has a bit of bleed in the corners that become really obvious during dark scenes in movies (which happen to be surprisingly frequent!). I'm still perfectly happy with the purchase, but both the warranty (and its allowance of dead pixels) and the fact that it WILL be imperfect are reasons to turn you away.
On the other hand, if you simply need an easy way of obtaining a 16:10 with more pixels than your standard 1920x1200, this is what you can get without breaking the budget too much. |

This is about half the price of Dell 30in monitor or any other monitor... definitely tempting...
I don't believe in paying full price

This was $505 a couple days ago from a few different sellers. I've been watching them for several weeks. I bought 3 27" catleaps half a year ago. One of them died. I had a squaretrade warranty though and they reimbursed me for it. I wrote them several days ago and showed them the ebay auction for one of these 30" Yamakasi monitors and they said it would be covered. I now have that in writing and filed so that when I purchase one of these I will have assurance that squaretrade will follow through if something goes wrong with it down the road.

Says the plug type is 'C' for Korea, so you'll need a converter to go from that type of plug to a US-style plug (or any other non-Korean type of plug).

I've got 27" Catleap version with the same resolution for $220 off eBay. Got lucky--no dead pixels. The monitor is gorgeous, best money ever spent on a computer part! 30" version must be even more awesome!
