I Montana... It's a start. Astronomy buffs chill their cameras all the time. You probably won't move it much in sub 0 weather. Keep us posted! I love DIY projects!

Constant phone home? I've had 9 of these installed at my home for years now and never even heard of this problem let alone experienced it. Ease in taking them over? How secure is your home wireless network? If my post has helped you in any way or made you smile please take a moment to click the number next to my reputation and add to it. Thanks!

Purchased this camera last deal, have it setup inside my living room to watch over my lizards. The only negative thing about this camera is the glare from the lights. You can not see anything if there is too much light. The image quality is not that great too, and its often laggy over the internet.
I wouldnt suggest this for security purposes, but for regular use for monitoring your pets / kids it does the job. |

Great idea!
I have a round display in my office with water in it and only a plastic screw where that water was poured in and it. We made it 5 years ago and water level hasn't diminished in all this years. I attached a picture and other displays we make. Last edited by mannyaguilar; 02-13-2013 at 10:21 AM.. |

![]() the other SDer was merely saying he didn't have the problem that you READ about, not actually experienced yourself. Don't know why you are assuming he was trying to be anything else but helpful with posting his personal experience

You're right. I know NOTHING of IT and security and my personal experience plus all the installs I've done mean nothing. You should definitely not buy these and move along. Sooner the better for everyone subscribed to this thread. I'm sure the loss of your helpful posts will be felt for years to come. |

Setup was easy, including the motion detection/alarm/email aspects. I second insuring you change the passwords right off the bat.
Foscam does have a free Android app (on the Play Store) for monitoring video/audio. I haven't checked about running audio in the background. I'm not too worried about image quality as I don't plan on portraits, etc. from the photos. But for a decent home monitoring alternative, a great deal. |
