really doesn't have GSM/UMTS 3G support ? I know Virgin Mobile uses Sprint network and uses CDMA. BUT I read the specs. on PCmag
http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2...?tab=Spec http://www.futureshop. and GSMarena http://www.gsmarena.co It seems it has GSM in the phone... That's why I wonder if it can be unlock and use oversea when I travel ? Last edited by mahou; 02-13-2013 at 06:25 PM.. |

Right when I submitted my order I got:

How does VM compare with Tmobile prepaid? I'm quickly realizing I need tons of minutes, but 2g data is acceptable per month. $50 for the Tmobile per month compared to $55 with VM. The $300 Nexus phone is tempting but also kind of expensive for my limited data needs. Ugh.

http://en.wikipedia.or the phone is CDMA version, SPH-D710 http://www.gsmarena.co NOT A GSM device... there are multiple versions of Samsung S2 (i dislike such model numbers as well [gsmarena.com]) Desktop:
Intel i5-2500k | Intel DP67DE mATX | 2x2GB OCZ DDR3 + 2x4GB G.Skill = 12GB DDR3 | Corsair 400W 80+ |

I know it's not quite the same thing, but I just got a used Samsung Epic 4G Touch (Sprint's version of the GS2) in excellent condition on eBay for $170 and activated it on Ting without too much trouble. If you're willing/able to keep your usage down, Ting can be even cheaper than Virgin Mobile for the same network, especially with multiple lines.
