ok i agree it is like new but in my opinion it's expensive.

I deal with different OS everyday so I can install the OS i like...and sometimes I dual boot. Its just comes down to your preference.

Build quality? I'll put my Lenovo x220 to the test against any Macbook product. And don't get me wrong, I like Mac products, they are built well. But come on.

IBM ThinkPads were built even better than lenovo ThinkPads but of course IBM made laptops for rich people lol.

I actually dont even have an iMessage account. I prefer gchat which is universal. The PCs that will be in the trash are ones that arent even worth selling cause you lost so much. Use them till they die for sure... I just prefer having a Later model mac and buy at a good price like this deal and sell losing little after some time goes by. The demand is there no one can deny that for selling. Have an open mind and try it out for a week and you may just like it. but if you dont want to its up to you. Good luck

Not sure if it applies to all Macbook Pro Retina models, but it's been called the most difficult notebook to fix. So I would take FULL advantage of that warranty.

That is $1499 for the 128GB model. Upgrading to 256GB costs $200 from there. This is the 256GB model, so really you have to compare this to $1699. The new models are only a slight processor upgrade, so getting a previous gen refurb to save $340 makes a lot of sense if you've been wanting this particular machine.

The strange thing is that the refurb 128GB model hasn't come down in price yet.

The two Mac laptops I own were both refurbs (from Apple). They are basically the same as a new machine. Same warranty and in perfect condition. You just don't get the retail box for it, that's the only discernable difference. My next Mac laptop will probably be a refurb, too.

I agree 15" is the way to go for anything more than surfing the web, email, etc. Just the 13" is too much money for a computer at $1400. Now the 15" is way too much for a computer. Plus the Dell does email and the web just as well as the MBP. I am trying to convince myself MBP is worth it (I use two for work) but it is hard to justify the money for what you get.

Dell (i5, 8gb ram) for $500 and MBP (i5, 8gb ram) for $500 I would go with the MBP all day long. Dell (i5, 8gb ram) for $500 and MBP (i5, 8gb ram) for $1400... its just hard to justifty the extra money.

FYI: 8GB of ram on a OS X platform is more than on Windows. I would want to say that 8GB on a Mac is like 16GB on a Windows machine because the difference is a bloated OS vs. an efficient one. You may do a research on how each OS is built and its look into its efficiency.

I have this computer. It has no problem pushin retina display. I am also able to hook it to my 46 inch LED to play 1080p no problem. Looks great! Love the retine screen

It isn't bad on the 13 inch retina because you can scale the display to get the same real estate as the classic 15 inch macbook pro. Even more if you wanted but then it becomes too small.
