I'm not into MMOs.
I love TES but not enough to play an MMO.
Just like I loved the KOTOR games but not enough to play TOR...even now that it's free.

The original Guild Wars was radically different from traditional MMOs. No eq grind, no level grind, horizontal skills/powers.

I am excited but isn't the game not even made by Bethesda? If so, notsureifwant.jpg I could see it losing the heart and soul of what Elder Scrolls is all about. And before you ask what Elder Scrolls is all about, think about the times you emerge from a cave, middle of the night with the stars blazing high above. The music kicks on. Will playing with Leroy Jenkins types ruin this experience who just want to run around and slay anything they see?

Bethesda didn't want to put their focus into this from what I understand (They didn't want to take away from their other games to run a MMO), but I believe the developer is working closely with them.

I really enjoyed some of the previous TES games, and I've always been drawn to MMOs, so I have high hopes for this. My biggest hope is it gets a decent community of players. Honestly MMOs were much more enjoyable about 8-10 years ago for me. Maybe it was the smaller player base in the games I played, but you felt like you made an impact by helping other people out. WoW had that feeling at first for a couple years, but has strayed pretty far from that.

I saw some video of some in game combat as well, there were these weird huge mushrooms everywhere and looked like warcraft with high end graphics. Sounds cool, right? I don't know. In my opinion, I always envisioned this game as being the full elder scrolls experience. Human shop keepers, real player based economy with huge areas affected by the players within. If you want to set up an inn with your hard earned money, then that's how you can play. Unless it goes to this extreme rather than just having a bunch of raiding parties in set worlds then I don't think it's going to be that great

What you are describing is EVE kinda, and frankly, I dont see another MMO going that route as it is very niche.
