120W at 12V assuming 100% efficiency would be 10amps. So make sure your cigarette lighter is fused for at least 10A. More would be better.

Also, for those wanting to power a laptop, 120W may be a little too small. Check your power ratings.

I was watching this for a while too, sitting at $19.97 w/ $10 MIR.

The good news is that the rebate is valid thru 03/31/13.... so there is the remote possibility that they will get some more in. If you happen to see that they do, PM me.

It can be plugged into a cars cigarette lighter socket or connected directly to a 12v battery and it will give you an electrical outlet that you can plug in small items like low power laptop power supplies and other things.

I like to use these to power up lamps during power outages. It is small but the good thing is it will be very efficient for small loads like lamps. My 1100 watt pure sine wave inverter uses 20w at idle . A unit like this would be less than 5w at idle.

Received the inverter today. Anyone else have a problem with the plug that is inserted into the inverter box? Mine only goes in about halfway and does not securely attach to the inverter box.

Used it for the first time today. plugged it into the cigarette lighter socket in one car and it blew the fuse . Tried it in another car and did the same thing. What gives?

Refer to my previous comment. I'd like to add that I mentioned 100% efficiency only for the sake of simplifying math. There is no such thing as 100% efficient inverter, probably around 80% is average. So you are looking at 12.5A minimum. Make sure you're cigarette lighter is fused for at least that. By that, I don't mean replace the current fuse with a higher rated one. The wiring has to be designed to match the fuse rating. So your stock fuse better be at least 12.5A. That also assumes that no other accessories run off of the same circuit. If there are other accessories or multiple cigarette sockets, take that into account.
