Slacker Radio: Sweepstakes Entry = Free Month of Slacker Premium Service

Cant figure out how to add this to my itunes based subscription. Anyone know?

For those ultra cheap SD'ers like myself and have an prepaid non-activated android phone with just wifi. And want to use Slacker Radio off-line like music service but don't want to pay subscription fees. Then you must check out ... zRadio [google.com] . This is the free limited version but you could unlock it for $1.66. And let me tell you, it's the best $1.66 I ever paid for an app. I use it daily. It's like a VCR or PVR for audio content. I am no way affiliated with this app. But I am going out of my way because it's just great. A little crude as not as polished but hell it works. Access to tons of internet radio stations that you could record for offline (not connected to the net) use. The app has an ok search for internet radio stations. But you could pretty much grab any shoutcast stations plus here's a list of other good sources ...
RadioLocator [radio-locator.com] , StreamFinder [streamfinder.com] , and of course Shoutcast [shoutcast.com].

I hope this helps my fellow cheap SDers who want offline music (or even talk and comedy shows) and don't want to be tied to a monthly subscription.

Follow the instructions in the OP to enter and receive the gift code. You will log into the main Slacker website and apply the code as noted. The subscription is not tied to iTunes, but IOS is merely the operating system you'd use to access your account. If you already subscribe as others have noted, you will have time (2 months) added on to your paid subscription free of charge.

Maybe the answers to the following are obvious, but not easy to find. What happens to cache at the end of premium period if not renewed? Can you still listen to what was cached with the basic free version? Does it even automatically revert to a free subscription (the Slacker forums seem to say your subscription is totally cancelled)? If you can't extend cache listening into the free period, is it easy to locate and delete the cache files in Android once it goes free?

I used to have this on my blackberry (it was free to cache Slacker back then) and I recall it being a real bear to cleanly get rid of the encrypted cache files, you had to run a desktop program to manage it.

It goes to free level, and you lose all premium benefits. The cache files likely won't work due to the DRM
