I bought the 42" version of this last year for $530 or so. This is a great price for a good looking TV. I kind of prefer my new 60" Panny plasma over the LED, though.

IPS has become such a buzzword these days.
I think almost anything over 42" that isn't Plasma uses an IPS panel. It's not a big deal on TV's this size, because ALL TV's this size are going to be IPS panels. Someone earlier in the thread was amazed that you would find an IPS on an LED TV... backlighting has nothing to do with panel type, LED/IPS combos are extremely prevalent. |

Person writing this takes no responsibility for there grammar, As they have outsourced there typing to India.
WE ARE THE 89%!! (that is, the 89% that live outside of CA and don't care if "CA tax kills the deal") |

I stand by what I said. Finding anything OTHER than an IPS panel in a TV over 42" is very very rare. (Again, excluding plasmas.) There just aren't that many VA panels in TV's this size. If you show me a few popular TV's that are VA panels at this size, I'd be happy to retract my statement. edit*** Actually, I take that back, apparently the largest VA panels are 46", not 42"... don't know if they still make them. In any case, any TV this size is going to be IPS. My point still stands. Last edited by FatSmurf; 02-14-2013 at 10:02 AM.. |

In fact, I've honestly not seen a single TV over 50" that doesn't use an IPS panel. Truly not a single one, and certainly none that are still be manufactured. I will gladly correct this information if you can show me large TV's that still use VA. edit*** Actually, I take that back, apparently the largest VA panels are 46" not 42"... don't know if they still make them.
