Do you think this is a good deal? I have like $200 worth of dell GC gift cards I need to use and the days are ticking away until they expire.

Older CPU, 900p screen, 5400RPM hard drive, no gigabit ethernet.

Not bad for $700 + tax, considering it's got a 630M GPU in there, but not really "loaded".

I'd hold off for 17R Special Edition from Dell Outlet (which you still get a warranty)

and you can get one fully loaded for same price plus with backlit keyboard and 650m nvidia card

Im in a hurry to get a 17" laptop, too. I have been looking at this on, but Im also looking at the samsung NP350E7C-A01US for $675. What do you think?????

Is it a 1080p screen? If so, go for it or wait on a slick deal with similar specs. If its the same 900p LED screen, honestly you're not going to notice the difference in the two CPUs day to day. You'd only notice in benchmarks but practically you'd not notice that one has a faster clock speed than the other.

That's a pretty ridiculous processor. Seems like a pretty good deal as long as you don't care about having an SSD. Also I'm assuming it does but just make sure it has USB 3.0

umm, there is no 1TB laptop drive in existence that is 7200rpm.

remember, it has to be NEW too, don't post refurbs or used computers.

outlet is not NEW.

although, I did buy my mom one from the outlet, it had a ding on the LCD lid, but she was okay with that and we saved a lot of $$$

if you can do self repairs, i'd go with Dell. they post step by step tear downs of their machines on their site and it's so easy to find replacement parts on ebay.

that said, it means that if anything goes wrong beyond the warranty, you can probably fix it yourself for fairly cheap.

although, i love samsung's phones (note ii owner here!), i don't know about their laptops.

also, i think this model supports msata so theoretically, you could have a ssd for your OS and use the 1tb for your data...best of both worlds!

the 3630 is only 0.2ghz faster than the 3632. however it runs MUCH MORE EFFICIENTLY!

you give up 6% performance for 24% more efficient! (3.2g vs 3.4g)

if you need that 6%, get the 3630, if you want long battery life, get the 3632. my mom has teh 3632 and she gets 6hrs battery life surfing and streaming videos and on win8 pro. that's amazing for a 17" laptop!

I'm holding out for a deal on the 17R Special Edition. Much better prefer the GeForce GT 650M 2GB graphics card.
