I tend to lose the cap most of the time and bend the USB head somehow. Some USB are using slide mechanism instead of using cap to protect the USB head, such as sandisk usb, PNY, or others. Without its cap, USB head is easily bend.

Weird. I've got about two dozen usb sticks, some of which I've had for a long time. Never bent or broke the head off of one. Hate the capless ones, because they all try to retract when you stick them in. I'll take the ones with the cap, although I always throw the cap out. Easier to stick in the slot.

By the way, anyone else want to slap up the people who invented usb, since you can sit there trying to stick the thing in the right way for 10 minutes and it'll pretend its upside down, then when you pull the device out so you can see the slot, it drops right in? The guys who spec'd hdmi at least got the easy insertion part right.

Best i.d. is testing but the shorter vrs is supposed to be the newer faster one. No consistency on sku/specs with some "Superior" and "Pro" showing the slower speed.
