Some are just gimmick, but this one actually reflects the higher USB 3 speeds.

And i don't know where you got your info, Newegg customer service is awesome.
Been building boxes with their parts, since way back when they were Egghead.com.
Even worked w customer service to apply rebates past their expiration.

EDIT: The code only works for one order and one order only.
I did contact customer service and they have the ability to credit back the rebate if you add a new order later on. Just FYI

i have one of these, i get about 100MB/s read and around 25MB/s write in real world usage, not benchmarking. like i actually copy huge files to it and just see the transfer rate in Windows.

anyways, i also tried to use this drive as a bootable Windows 8 image but for some reason it refused to boot still a good drive though

A lot of motherboards don't have USB 3.0 drivers in the BIOS, which is why the drive isn't recognized in the preinstallation environment. USB 2.0 is still the go-to for boot/imaging as a result.

OT that performance seems...like usb 2.0. Is this the reason why these are always on sale?
