Why are you comparing generic toner to genuine ink? The generic Brother inks are less than a $1 each in multi-packs on Amazon.

And $22 seems pricey for generic toner cartridge. The generic HP and Canon toner cartridges I get form Amazon are under $10 each.

As for the price of this printer, $59.99 are $69.99 are the typical sale prices for this printer. Adding on coupon(s) is what makes it hot.

Staples, Office Max, Office Depot, Best Buy all have these at this price tomorrow. Where to buy? Any coupons that would make a difference? Other factors? Like Staples return policy is better than most? Hmmm...

I got the Brother MFC-J435W last summer. Using the generic ink off Amazon, like 24 packs for $13 or something like that. Sure, the ink is cheap but I really hate the constant clogging & cleaning of the nozzle. Most of my color nozzles are fine except the black, it just keeps clogging. Pisses me off and with the high volume I do in printing shipping labels (30 per day during Xmas season).

Yes I'm using it right now. What issue did you have with it?

I have this printer. Highly recommended. Works with airprint for wiresless IOS devices and google cloud print for android and Chromebooks. I have a bunch of gadgets and they all work 100% with this printer. PLUS the cheap ink from ebay and amazon works great.

the j825dw is worth the extra price imo, the difference between the two is that the j825 has duplex printing and the j430 doesn't.

I got the j825dw on Best Buy about a month ago using the $50 off coupon code, making it ~$50 dollars for me which is a slick deal!

In case others are curious as to the difference between 425, 430 and 435....there are none.

It's interesting that you report the J435W and J430W are better models when there are reports that they are the same physical model with different numbers on them for the different retailers (I have not verified this myself).

I'm going for the MFC-J825DW. Duplex printing is also worth it for just a bit more. Also read something about faxing, that PC faxing is send only, not receive. I guess that's a nit, since I don't fax much, but when I do it's usually for something important.

$50 for the MFC-J825DW from BB is pretty dang good, especially since online at least it's $249.99 today!
