Notice the big white cone shaped connector? That's what it should be. The top photo is the one I got from the amazon purchase. Unfortunately there's no way to remove the cone shaped thing and put it onto the amazon one (or atleast I wasn't able to do it) The one thing that these cheap cartridges do well is that the color ink is useful. Not because it prints but because it's recognized by the printer. When your colored ink runs out, you can't print in black/white only (Or maybe you can and I just have to switch out a setting) Even though you don't print in color the printer goes through a " cleaning " process alot and it uses up the colored ink. I tried that and it would print like half of the stuff. The whole page will print but it's missing a few sections of the letters from left to right and very rarely readable. I'll have to try it again. Thanks! OMG it does work! I have the color cartridges in there that are non-oem. I printed a color page and it works out great! Thanks!!!!!!!!!! Got my MFC-J825DW home and set it up. Got confused at first by the hard copy directions which aren't quite in sync with the version of the software on the supplied CD. Wasn't so bad once I figured that out. There are good soft copy manuals you can download from Brother but I just guessed my way through having previously installed a Brother printer before I kind of knew what to expect. Wasn't trying to follow the directions step by step. I can't be done, well unless I'm confused. But I followed the hardware setup just fine. So anyway, from there I just used educated guessing to get things working. I suspect if I'd been new to this and trying to follow the supplied hard copy directions for a wireless setup, might have been really frustrating. Anyway, it's working fine now, even printed a photo from my android phone,

Those Staples coupons skyrockocketed in price ever since e Junkie is no more. So the duplexing is worth the extra bucks? I still think I will have to wait till the other model goes for $50.

![]() And on another note, thanks guys for the info about ink cartridges guys. Had me worried but looks like all is well. Just different engineering approaches to a similar result seems like. Last edited by TexasFlood; 02-17-2013 at 08:45 PM.. Reason: Automerged Doublepost |

I actually ordered some meritline ink just a bit ago. That's cool, I trust it well enough to use it. BUT, I may have found the better answer I've been looking for. First let me say I have absolutely no relationship to this company or stand to gain anything, just sharing what I found. I found them on Amazon then when and checked out the web site directly. The company is printpayless. They sell bottles of ink which they claim is specifically formulated For Brother which I assume means the additives such as glycerol and some cleaning fluids to keep the print head clear. The bottles can be used to directly fill the OEM cartridges, no syringe needed. But better yet they sell these clear pre-filled cartridges with easily accessible holes pre-drilled with plugs. They also sell other cool stuff like Continuous Ink Supply Systems but Not sure I really need that, have to think about it. Anyway, why I didn't find these guys before I don't know but I've very hopeful this will work out well for me so just passing along FYI for what it's worth.

I have a love / hate relationship with SlickDeals. I love it when I get a good deal, and hate it when I miss out!
