NOTE: This is refurbished/reconditioned! For $50 it's a great deal for an external drive, especially if you need one with USB 3.0 so you can transfer a gigantic wad of data from one location to another. I wouldn't necessarily recommend this for long-term (i.e. 3+ years) of storage due to being reconditioned, but it's an amazing price for a 1.5TB drive + USB 3.0 enclosure if that's what you will need some time soon!

Some notes from the thread:

1) I'm not sure how long the $59.99 base price is good for, but the rebate is good for purchases up through 02/19, so there's still a few days to get in on this.

2) Someone mentioned that after purchasing a SquareTrade E-Mail is sent. A 3-year extended warranty was listed as $9.99, which is an excellent value for a refurbished 1.5TB external USB 3.0 drive if you want a warranty.

Even used hdds cost more.

I haven't seen 2.5TB drives...ever. If you were asking about my 2TB eSata deal, that was at least 1 year ago (maybe 2) and it was around $110-120, so this is definitely a better deal per gigabyte. Then again, having multiple 1.5TB drives or having a single 3TB drive is something to consider...
