2013 Panasonic 3D plasma 60" TC-P60ST60 pre-order for $1444.99 plus tax via EPP discount P60ST60

Panasonic just lowered the pre-order price of their 2013 Panasonic 3D plasma 60" TC P60ST60 to $1444.99 plus tax via EPP discount (It was $1614.99). The 2013 model includes 2 pairs of 3D glasses as well. IMHO this makes this deal much better than the clearance deals on the 2012 60" ST50 models.

You do have to have a Panasonic Employee Purchase Program (EPP) account to get this price.

Alternatively if you don't want 3D they have also lowered the price of the 65" TC-P65S60 non-3D plasma from $1614.99 to 1444.99 as well.

I'd like this info too. Watching TV with glasses doesn't really appeal to me. If the panels are of the same quality (black levels, color accuracy, etc) I'd be very happy with the S65 model.

I do not believe the panels are the same on the ST and S models. The ST offers the "infinite black" and the S does not. One site I read stated "The blacks are roughly 20% better here than on models below it in the lineup". The same site also said the ST60 models use the GT50 panel.

Also, checking Panasonic's site shows the MSRP of the 65" S60 to be $1,699 and the 65" ST60 to be $2,599.

Unfortunately the S60 does not have the same glass as the ST series. All they added over the 2012 model is the "smart" apps.

From their press release:

"The S60 Series includes an Online Movies feature -- a service that provides select IPTV functionality by offering access to popular applications for streaming movies and other videos. All S60 models offer 1080p Full HD resolution, built-in Wireless LAN, 600Hz Sub-field Drive, Media Player; DLNA, VIERA® Link, two HDMI connections and two USB ports."

i wonder if the ST60 and S60 perform the same? thats the only deal breaker with me, I had a samsung pn59d6500 3d tv, and used the 3d on it for maybe 6 hours total in 2 years, and it sucked at the end of the day. So as long as the S60 performs like a top 3 plasma behind the GT series and VT (now zt i think) I'll hop all over it

EDIT: Above posts answered my hold on. Ill def be getting the ST60 over the S60. Now the only question is if $1,575 SHIPPED is a slick deal

Just want to share my thoughts with you folks who claim don't want 3D to first try it. I was thinking like that too and was going to invest in a larger non-3d screen but then spend many hours at various stores trying to decide between extra inches vs passive 3D.

I cannot express my joy enough with the passive 3D TV I got. The 2d to 3d conversion is amazing and with the settings set correctly (ie life like any not unreal wow 3d)... It is almost like watching real life characters through a glass window. The passive glasses are extremely light weight plastic with plastic film and you do not even realize you have worn it. It is BEAUTIFUL. Watching photos on the TV with 2d to 3d conversion is such a joy...

Absolutely agree. 3D movies usually look like crap. The only acceptable ones are the cgi's. Having said this, 3d isn't completely dead yet. It really looked good on 4k TV. Contents to be seen.

Pretty good if your willing to wait until April and considering Amazon just sold out of the 2012 version (TC-P55ST50) at $1299. Hopefully the prices will fall a bit more.
