I need a tv stand that can fit these screens inside of them. Something like a 3pc or 4pc set. Can't find anything that would fit a 60" safely AND have a polk cs2 center channel somewhere in there to where its not at an awkward placement. Any ideas? Don't want to have to mount this one as I just took down my pn59d6500 and the holes it left in the wall made me want to not mount my next set

. FYI, got the 60" u50 for half this price (will this be half price come Jan 2014?). I love panasonic, I wont compare my model to a V or 2013 Z, just saying that years are numbered. Panasonic really cut R&D because they lost money in the plasma segment. Wouldn't be surpised if there were no 2015 models, I'd be pretty unhappy...............Forecasting or guessing is risk and reward. Given that 2012 was not a good year, you think they are going to jack up specs and jack up prices, or cut features/models/research and keep the same price? Currently have a tc-p60u50 ($700), tc-p50gt25 ($900), and LG 60pa6500 ($800) and love all 3. Would love to sell my 50" g for $600 though. Last edited by woomer051; 02-14-2013 at 10:06 AM.. |

it was and is a great tv and they apparently felt it was good enough to just not offer a gt series. There are still many things that the VT50 has that the ST50 doesn't, not least of course of which is the single pane construction and the Ultra panel.....and THX cert.,24p proper etc. To the guy who made the "cut funding remark". Is that how they wound up shocking everyone with a ZT series this year? While the VT is still the reference TV the ZT has actually had to be called to "beyond reference" display its so damn good. You should check out on their main site some of the videos of the 2013 unveiling or just read about it, but its drool worthy. They achieved phenomenally higher brightness apparently in part due to the glass actually being fuzzed to the bezel, anyway at one point he actually just says we aren't going to just give up on the best tv tech out there. Congrats on getting a great deal on a 2012 , I did the same and spent less than a thousand on the gt50, it's an amazing deal but that doesn't make the 2013 lineup any less impressive and even better on a direct model per model sale, that said, if you'd have to wait until near 2014 to get as good a deal than don't fret, your tv will be great even if the new equivalent is better. I'm talking to myself too, to accept the great deal on the TV I got and don't let myself be mentally tricked into not being satisfied with anything but the best/most current. I have to keep reminding myself I wasn't even looking for a TV, just doing some market research for a set for my father, then as going to get a 50U50 for the next 400 dollar sale because I just read so much good, then went to on to the st50 because if I am going to make an investment I should do it right and make sure that its got glare reduction and then moved on to the gt50 for thx, shades of gray and if I don't stop I'll have a 2013 w/ 3,000FFD and a 2013 delinquent payment notice to go with it. Anyway sorry for the long post. |

For bang per buck id pick up a 60" ST60 vs a VT 50 ... I would say these two sets are equal in performance minus the 24p playback at 72hz . I am pretty sure the ST60 will be a better set then the 2013 VT series. Thats just the way it goes with technology. I am sure the ST70 and VT 70 next year will be close to on par with the ZT60. I have owned and studies panasonic plasmas since 2006 |
