I had a mini maglite with stuck batteries. I sent it in to Duracell to take them up on their claims on the packaging that their batteries won't damage your products (After I removed the light bulbs, of course). They sent me a check for $10.

That's a hell of a light... adds new meaning to the British referring to them as "torches". Too bad the video didn't show how bright the thing is in the dark... don't usually have a need to melt plastic or start fires with a flashlight...

I couldn't agree more-- there is absolutely no legitimate sporting purpose for a 5-cell flashlight. These are the same flashlights that military, law enforcement, and EMS carry. I'm not saying we should ban all flashlights, just that its time for common sense limits to how many C&D cells people should be allowed to walk around with.
Anybody who thinks they need something like this is obviously compensating for a lack of lighting somewhere else!

WTF is everyone on about? These flashlights are great. For under $20 for the LED version, I consider them a total bargain. Very bright and strong beam. I enjoy taking it camping and finding owls at night etc. Why the heck would anyone be anal about people walking around with 5 Ds (or think about banning these lights). Why would anyone think this is at risk of being used as a weapon. In that case then so is my fishing pole, so ban fishing poles too. People have lost there minds.

I have the 6 D version of this. Its fun but its not that bright. It needs an LED I may have to look at upgrading it.
