Does anyone have experience with gel mattress. i do not see any reviews in costco.

so i m guessing they increased the price by $100 and made it 14"

Again ... instore prices are a little cheaper than online .. but i am not sure if instore discount is valid .. i will be going to costco in a bit to check..

I purchased a king size from Costco several years ago and have been very happy with the mattress. I needed a very firm mattress because of a back problem and this has really helped. It has remained as firm as the day I bought it and I am not a small person.

The video listed above does not tell the whole story. These things are heavy - definitely a two-man job to get it home and set up, especially if it's going up or down stairs.

You need a solid platform to rest it on - I used my existing box springs with plywood cut at Home Depot on top. I strongly suggest you open the box on top of the platform. Very awkward to move the mattress once it's out of the box (but no need to turn it regularly like with a spring mattress)

As mentioned in the video, it takes a couple of days to expand after you get it out of the box. When I bought mine these mattresses gave off an initial chemical odor when first set up which took a few days to go away. This may no longer be an issue. Plan on not sleeping on it for up to a week.

They take some getting used to compared to traditional mattresses. You can go to any mattress store to try one out, but a couple of weeks use is needed to determine if it's right for you.

Of course Costco has that great return policy, but you will not get that mattress back in the box. Taking it back would be a b*tch.

Costco has all the 3 sizes in store except for the full that I needed. Do I need to buy a box spring?

I bought the 14" Novafoam King from Costco B&M years ago and it is one of my favorite purchases ever. I love this mattress. I told my parents about it and they bought one. Then they bought a second one for the guest room. Then my brother bought one after staying over at my parents. It was $700 or $750 for mine iirc.

After years there's no sagging, no loss of firmness, it's probably going to last twice as long as any traditional mattress in the same price range.

We do use a box spring for ours.
