It has nothing to do with my ISP, my service is fine. I purchased this player to replace my LG BD550, which I was going to move upstairs to the bedroom using the wireless gaming adapter I am currently using downstairs in the den. The LG works fine, the Xbox 360 works fine, it's a problem with this player.

Got mine today. Double boxed but the inner sony box was in bad shape. The player was wrapped in bubble wrap, no original packing. The player was in good shape itself. Only problem I hit so far was that someone else registered it so I cant get the registration number. I am guessing these were not reconditioned by sony. Still a good buy but not great.

Mine had already been registered. I had to call sony support but it was easy and I got my free 3 months. It was funny, the blu-ray player had not even been set back to defult settings. Might be worth getting that one year warranty on it.

Mine too. Player was wrapped in bubble wrap inside original box. No outer box, USPS just dropped between front doors and ran. Player still had plastic wrap on it.

Seems to work very well after firmware update and a few reboots. Amazon HD VOD, Netflix. HuluPlus looks great. Played VOB DVD rips on usb hard drive, mp4, mp3, aac, music on network from pc. Hulu didn't give me referal code so perhaps player was used but I hate hulu plus and it looks new.

Streaming is great Netflix always is on all my devices, but amazon isn't usually. This works in HD better than my tablet and pc do in SD using flash. Android app is fine, Windows Phone app doesn't work (not official)

My connection should be crap. I'm travelling so used buddy across street FIOS wifi (about 50 yards away) using netgear bridge that is then wired to Netgear Powerline AV to back of house and to this. Still have the player showing 8-10Mbps.

I find the sony menus text too small for amazon/netflix but I was expecting that. Wish they would just copy or buy ruku interface. This sony does not pass the "good enough for mom test"

Ruku is best for most non geeks...but for family that insist they NEED DVD for the kids. This model should do the job. My $30 Dynex blueray has better netflix menus that even my mom...and 4yr old kids can use.

This sony has amazon VOD. I just bought The Walking Dead this week episode in a few clicks on this player. Exactly what I wanted..but only the 4-30yr old can use. All the moms said nope, cant read or understand how to navigate. (@#@##$!!!)

Good value, just get off the couch to read the small text then find a show and hit play. (Said me to pain in A$# family I give free stuff too!)

Wonder if region free hack would work?

First start by creating an account using the Logitech Harmony Software.

Start out by adding a DVD player: Sony BDG-S360
It will automaticially be named "Dvd"

Then add another identical DVD player, it will be named "Dvd 2" (No, you don't accually need to own 5 physical players!)

Make sure you finish adding each player one at a time, instead of adding all 5 in one go.
If you add all 5 players in one go, the program will change it into one single composite device, and that will not work for this purpose.

Releat 3 more times, untill you have "Dvd", "Dvd 2", "Dvd 3", "Dvd 4" and "Dvd 5" added.

The reason you need 5 DVD players created, is because the website we're going to use next can only create one command for each device, and we need 5 commands.
If you try to add more commands to one device, it will just overwrite the previously created command for that device.
So 5 players are critical!

Now go to logitechs online webinterface and login using your harmony account created earlier:

Now go to the "Secret" Infrared page:
Logitech® Harmony® Member Web (members.HarmonyRemote.com)

Click the "Select an active device" link, and select "Dvd"
Click the "Manual" button

There are now 3 input-fields you can enter text into, click on the last one "Data Value:" (Below "Pronto") and copy/paste in the following codes:
Click Process
It will show some more codes, telling you it was successfully converted - Click Next

Now type "Hack 1" in the "Name:" field, and click the "Add" button.
It will now tell you that the command was added successfully. Click Next

Now click on the "Current Device:" link - Should say "Sony DVD (BDP-S360)"
It will show you a list of your five DVD players, click "Dvd 2"
Now Click "Manual" again, but this time enter the following codes:
Save this command as "Hack 2"

Continue untill you have created all 5 "Hack-codes", here are the final 3 sets of codes:
Sony Code 3: (Save on "Dvd 3" as "Hack 3")

Sony Code 4: (Save on "Dvd 4" as "Hack 4")

Sony Code 5: (Save on "Dvd 5" as "Hack 5")



Now you're done on the website, all five commands have been created.



Back in the Logitech Harmony software, create a new acticity, choose to manually add the activity.
Type of activity: Utility
- (Then choose "Generic Activity", the only choice available under Utility)

Now add all five DVD players to the activity (Click Add next to each of them, one at a time)

Click Save

It will now show you a list of settings, it should look like this:
Choose "Yes, but I want to add more control of options and devices for this Activity." and press Next

You should now be shown a list of actions that are to occur whenever the activity starts or stops.
It should be empty by now.
In the top half (actions that should occur when activity is started) choose "Dvd" and click "Add"
Choose "Send this infrared Command" and from the dropdown-box select "Hack 1" (Should be the last on the list). Click Next

Now select "Dvd" again, and click "Add"

This time choose Send this infrared delay: "1 second". Click next.
(This one second delay between commands is VERY important, this will NOT work without it!)

Now Select "Dvd 2", and click "Add"
Choose "Send this infrared Command" and from the dropdown-box choose "Hack 2". Click Next
Now Select "Dvd 2" again, and click "Add"
Choose Send this infrared delay: "1 second". Click next.

Now Select "Dvd 3", and click "Add"
Choose "Send this infrared Command" and from the dropdown-box choose "Hack 3". Click Next
Now Select "Dvd 3" again, and click "Add"
Choose Send this infrared delay: "1 second". Click next.

Now Select "Dvd 4", and click "Add"
Choose "Send this infrared Command" and from the dropdown-box choose "Hack 4". Click Next
Now Select "Dvd 4" again, and click "Add"
Choose Send this infrared delay: "1 second". Click next.

Now Select "Dvd 5", and click "Add"
Choose "Send this infrared Command" and from the dropdown-box choose "Hack 5". Click Next
Now Select "Dvd 5" again, and click "Add"
Choose Send this infrared delay: "1 second". Click next.


When done click "Save"

It will now show you a list of settings, it should look like this:
Choose "Yes, theese settings are correct" and click Next
Click Done

Optional: Click the "Settings" button next to the newly created "General Acticity" and choose "Rename General Activity" and rename it to "Sony Hack!" or whatever....


Click "Update remote" and wait for the remote to be programmed.
now you're done programming the remote!


Now go and turn on your TV and the Sony BDP-S360.
Wait untill you see the home screen on your TV, and make sure there are no discs in the drive, and that the drive is closed.
Now aim the remote at the DVD player, I recommend keeping a distance of about two meters, you be the judge of that..
Now press the new activity button, should be named either "General Activity" or "Sony Hack!" or whatever you called it.
Keep aiming the remote at the DVD player for at least 10-15 seconds.
The remote will blink alittle while it's working...

When the remote stops working, the DVD player should start blinking the blue light above the disc-drive - this means everything worked.
Now try inserting a DVD with a region-code you couldn't play before - it should now play!

Once you are satisfied everything is ok, turn the player off, and disconnect the power.
Then plug back the power and everything is good now.
(This last step is to stop the blue light from blinking while the player is turned on...)

Ordered on 2/18; received it today. Will set it up tonight when I get home. Wife snapped a couple of quick pics for me - apologies for the blurriness.

Set up was a breeze (firmware update and connecting to Wifi). Plays Blu-rays fine although I haven't tried any online content yet. The unit looks to be in brand new condition. The player had plastic film on it to protect it. The remote looks like it had never been used.

Overall, very happy with purchase...will be even happier if I can sell my S360 via craigslist to recoup the costs

Wireless seems to be not working. I can connect to my network but no Internet. Wired connection works fine though.

I had this problem as well, it connects to the network fine but says no internet connection. After I set a static IP address, subnetmask, etc. it was able to connect to the internet fine.

It appears I'm the only one that got a bad refurb. It shows the bluray logo on boot up and then nothing out of the HDMI port which pretty much makes it useless. I can get video out of the RCA connection and have tried updating the firmware and all sorts of video settings but nothing with three different screens and 2 known good HDMI cables.

I am returning to New Egg for replacement but at $13 for return shipping not so slick

the built in WIFI is very weak, but it does connect for streaming

Get the warranty from Newegg, and get it fixed or replaced. Cheaper that way. But I am not sure if the warranty can be bought later after the product is purchased.

screw that...Sony tried to get me to pay shipping on a return bluesy player once.... I said, wait, you sell me a unit that does not work out of the box and now I have to pay to ship it? Let me speak to a supervisor ( I always say sprvsr or district manager when complaining). They said, well, I spoke to my supervisor and they said to go ahead and do it an no cost.... If it was not working a few weeks/months after purchase, I could understand, but you just got the thing....
