Nabi 2 at BB and WM for $179.99 again

Thanks, I've been looking for a good deal on this.

I got two of these for $130 per before Christmas, as well as 2 kindle fire's. Would rather have 4 kindles. I like the case on the Nabi2, but that's the best feature. The content is fine for awhile, but there they don't have a full google play or open market; nor obviously Amazon market; and the apps your are pointed towards are more expensive.

Now let me back up. My 6 year old has a lot of fun on it. He is just old enough to be able to play all the games, as well as the academic stuff.

My soon to be 3 year old is into puzzles and drawing. There are 5 pages to color, and 8 simple puzzles. And that's it unless you fork over $5-10 for the full version (which would be a 99 cent type app on google etc). And I am never going to see a SD posted along the lines of "Nabi2 market apps: $.99 today only" so figure they will be more expensive.

IF you want a REALLY controlled environment, then this is it, and that's not always a bad thing.

You can download the amazon market on the Nabi. I would much rather prefer google play, but Amazon is available.

You can download the Amazon Market. We have it and I never use the Nabi store, only apps from Amazon. I have a Kindle Fire too, and I actually find the Nabi to be a nicer tablet than mine! Since I've had KF for awhile, I have tons of apps I've gotten free over the last year, and when I logged into the Amazon Market I was able to just download them again on the Nabi. No extra work involved.

As for getting a Kindle Fire instead--it depends on how much you trust your kid. The Amazon Market insists you use One-Touch ordering, which means your kid can buy anything at any time with one tap. My kid does--all the freaking time. Around Christmas he bought a whole season of Dora for $23!! Fortunately they refunded it, but they also added that they don't normally do so. The Nabi does not allow your kid to buy anything no matter how many ads they tap in the process of playing the game. They can also use the kid-safe browser on kid-safe sites ONLY.

HP is releasing a 7" tablet in April. Keep eyes open for that.

Thanks for the info. I will have to try it outside of the Nabi market. Are you able to run Amazon's free time on it, or is that for kindles only?? Trust me, I know about the aggravating Dora charges--especially when they are watching the same episode/s for free already!
