Oh wow, been waiting for these to come down. I have the rc50 and 30's. really wanted the 70's tho. Are these legit? Like old stock, not new ones they have been selling?

Great price. Too bad the matching center, RC-LCR, is discontinued and sells for $500, or $400 used.

Bought a pair this morning locally. Hooked up to my Denon receiver and breaking in with CD's while I'm at work..

Very legit and you get the mfrs 5 year warranty. Fry's has had these in stock since late November but were priced at $599 each. No one was buying at that price. Been waiting for a sale since then. Never thought they'd get this cheap though.

They were still producing RC-70's exclusively for Vanns but since Vanns filed for bankruptcy in the fall Energy most likely chose Fry's to sell the remaining stock.

What is remaining could be the end of the line for the RC speakers. You cannot find any of the other models except on Craigslist or Ebay and prices are high.

Snagged a four pack...these won't last long and they're damn near impossible to find. Thx for posting!

oh wow. Thanks for responding. I was up last night refreshing to see when the price would change. Had them in my cart ready to go. As soon as i woke up, bought them right away. Glad i did now after reading what you said.
Also didn't know that Vanns when belly up. Thats where i got my original Energys. I am so happy i scooped these up. I should be getting these on tue! Kinda wished now i could have scooped up 2 extra. 5.1 of rc70's But ill settle for a 7.1 of 30s,50s,70s, and lcr.

any chance the center speaker will go down in price? I just got these but I want them for just the front without a center for now. How will this do for movies and music?

How do these compare the to jbl es80s that frys have? I have those now and they sound pretty nice. i got them for 270 for the pair.

In for a pair for the man cave. No way does anything come close to the RC-70 at this price point.

They are in different league. I upgraded to rc70 year ago before SWITCH ( not an upgrade IMO) to Polk Lsi series couple months ago. I paid $399 each which consider a steal that time. I sold my rc70 and rclcr and still have the rc10. for $299 I am itchy again to build a 2 channels for music only and sell my RC10 to build a HT. But this set like more power. Budget receiver will give good sound but won't do its justice. Prepare to get a receiver with pre-out and get a seperate amp.
