Yea I am in Elmhurst so it was a drive also but they were OOS for delivery by the time I ordered them but at least the 5% off helped with the tax and my kids got a good lesson on what poor customer service, communication and work ethics are! When a 7 year old asks if something is mentally wrong with the sales associates you know something just might be!

Well the true matching center is actually the RC LCR, not the V5.2C. But it would have cost you $500 for an RC LCR. High demand driving the prices up.

Personally I wouldn't spend $500 on a matching center. It just makes this deal less beautiful. Two channel stereo is perfect for music playback. The dedicated 5.25'' of RC-70 should be good for conversation in movies as well.

Mine were delivered this morning. Box was wet and big hole in the bottom. I haven't opened it yet, but speakers looks fine. Good to know that the manufacturer covered them with plastic. What's up with UPS?

Many of their employees just don't give a crap.

Mine were also delivered a while ago. One is perfect, the other has a small ding on the top/front edge that's covered by the grille. I can live with it. Otherwise perfect.

I took a picture of mine with the small dent and sent it to Fry's after calling them. They gave me $50 off for keeping it damaged. Just saying...worth a shot.

I haven't opened mine yet, but what is the manufactured date?

I got these hooked up this afternoon, running in 2 channel mode off a Harman Kardon HK-3480. I'm blown away right out of the box. I can only imagine what these sound like after they've opened up. I'll be feeding it vinyl for the next several days,

Vinyl RULES! Bought these as well and picked them up Tuesday. Fortunately they are perfect, avoiding UPS is a big plus. Vanns's was selling these up until about three months ago. Speculation is that since Vann's filed Bancrupcy that the remaining stock of RC-70's was picked up by Fry's, and the RC-LCR (center channels) by Meijers which blew them out late last year. I can't count how many AVS threads there were about damaged RC-70's shipped from Vanns. Actually Vanns sold multiple RC-70's in Dec through eBay advertised as "as is" with shipping damage, which were all the returns. These boxes weren't meant to ship individually, if they were it's the worst packaging engineering ever.

Yeah, though they made it from Memphis to VT with just one little ding. One more layer of cardboard probably would have done the trick.

Pickup wasn't an option for me, no Fry's anywhere near the Northeast.
