Dish Network

I am a customer of Dish Network, currently paying around 50 dolllars/ month

One person at work was talking about how he splits his Dish Network bill with other people and so he only pays around 25/month and he gets many more channels than I do.

I was wondering how this is possible?

This is what i did ( but did not charge my mother! for gods sake!) my 2nd reciver was at my mom house 100miles away and i never pluged in the phone line....pm me if you have any questions

The satellite has no idea where you are. So as long as you don't plug it in, you can get a dish off ebay for $25 and pay for an extra room receiver that you put anywhere including another house. I know people that do this for vacation properties.

The way it works is that two (or more) people have to already have the equipment. You then sign up say 4 TVs in your home but then take two of the cards out and insert them in to the other persons receivers. Voilia. It should be said that this isn't legit...

There was a story a few years back about some guy having like 40 TVs in his household. He had to have multiple accounts because I think they limited you to 7 or 8 TVs but made quite a bit of $$ off the deal I would imagine.

Hmmm, I thought the smart card was 'married' to the receiver on which it was activated, so taking the card to another receiver would not work. What would make sense is if you took two of the receivers to another location to use. I have no idea, just thinking logically.

You do take the receiver with you to the other place. You only need the actual dish. I am surprised they don't have a GPS receiver built into the Dish for this reason.
