The m&p 15-22 is always available at my local academies for $475, that's a better buy. In fact they have 2 in stock when i was there just week ago. Called other Academy and they also have them in stock as well

I built my AR from the ground up, all new parts. I took it to the range a few weeks ago, put 60 rounds through it, and then took it last friday to the range, the 3rd round through it caused this to happen. I was shocked because it could have been worse. I just pulled the trigger and felt that something was wrong because the stock was springy and not like normal. I looked down to find this.

Was it made in China? You'd think something meant to be in the recoil chain would be made sturdier ( that shouldn't even be possible with properly made carbon fiber parts) or at least beefed up with metal.

Was considering picking up a polymer lower or two. Did a quick google search, and of all the negative comments I saw, the ones where the lower actually broke, all looked like that. All broken off in the same exact spot. Did see some "torture" test videos with them, but dry firing.

I've built several ARs on polymer lowers and have never had a single issue, and I wasn't gentle with them.

Also just so everyone knows, this .22lr AR uses a multi-cal lower, not a proprietary .22 only one. This is a *FAR* better deal than the other .22 ARs available - you can't buy a complete lower for $500 right now, and the omni/chiappa dedicated .22lr upper is $250-350 if you can find it in stock. You're basically buying a complete lower and getting a dedicated .22 upper for free.

I have one of these .22's as well, and didn't have any issues with it when I took it to the range. Trigger isn't as good as the Plum Crazy lowers were (Which is New Frontier now - same manufacturer/tooling/etc, new company bought exclusive agreement IIRC), but it's pretty damned good for a stock trigger. Not much creep, about 5-7lbs pull, quick reset.

Deal is slick as shit - at $500, you could more than likely pick this up, sell the complete lower locally for $500, and end up with a free dedicated .22lr upper.

tl;dr - This rifle uses a STANDARD AR-15 lower. Multi-caliber. You can swap the .22lr upper for any standard AR upper (.223/5.56, 6.8spc, .300 blackout, etc) in under a minute.
