Tried transcoding my 25-30 GB mkv files to m4v using handbrake and it works quite well now. Didn't realize I was using a slightly older version of handbrake. After upgrading to the latest one, even regular profile worked just fine.
Took close to 2 hrs to compress a movie and the video looks quite impressive and sounds great too. I also transcoded a music video and while the video looks great, the audio is a bit off. Something didnt translate right from the 5.1 DTS-HD MA downmixed to stereo really sounds bad. I'll have to mess about with sound options to get the best. But man does handbrake take a long time. But i'm very happy with the video results. |

Anyone try backing up their Dredd blu ray? Curious if you figured out a way to convert the 3d to mkv? Dredd is different because it has 2d and 3d on the same disc and you pick which to play when you hit play movie on the disc menu. I looked through the files and nothing appeared 3d-ish, and there was only one main movie file listed. Must be some sorcery
