That light referenced in the wiki can be turned off. I'll post a screenshot of it when I get to it.

EDIT: NVM, it's the internal light. You'd have to open up the casing and take off the led.

If you mount this camera upside down, is there a setting to flip the video output?

Yes there is. That's exactly how I have mine mounted.

Edit: whoops forgot... I used to have it mounted like that, but moved my camera to a different part of the room and have it mounted upright.

But the option is still there... see attached screenshot.

I have two of them from last 6 months. No problem at all but they send you email notification even for sun light.
They support dyndns account and you have option to choose your port so that you forword that port on your router to monitor it over the internet.

The best app for these thing is Tinycam or Tinycam pro (Paid version) that what I use.
It has option to upload images to FTP or email if any alert occur. PTZ works really really great with TinyCam app. (Android).

These cameras come with b/g or N only make sure the one you are getting is N wireless.

IP Cam Viewer is available for Android. You can use a web browser on I-devices but you lose some of the functionality like pan and tilt.

I currently have one of these and just started to use it. I have one question for those of you who use it as a baby monitor. Do you leave the monitor/phone on while you sleep in case your child wakes up and needs you? My wife wants a way to turn the screen off, and still hear the monitor while she sleeps on her android phone. I would love to get another on of these if I can find a good solution as a baby monitor.

I use FoscamPro, it cost 5 bucks when I got it but I think its well worth it. All the tools that are available on the web page, are available via the app, and it supports sound back and forth.

There's also a few free baby monitor apps, just search for foscam. They usually limit some functionality (controls, audio, only one cam allowed).

I'm in the same position but haven't yet pulled the trigger LOL. I don't have a real need, but I want it anyway. I have a Synology NAS that can have a camera connected.

Hmm, I don't have a baby to monitor. We do have a dog though, but I am pretty sure she just stays in bed while we're gone and goes to sleep. I guess I could point it to our apartment front door for security... Or hmm..

I feel you guys. Got one from the last deal. I already have a regular webcam connected to a always running nettop. It is not a fancy setup, but works great. Wondering, what will I do with the cam when it arrives. May be I will use of excuse of having rotation and IR, and start using it, :-).

Does ip cam viewer support background audio? I have only been able to find this for tinycam pro. If so, that is a reason I'd recommend tinycam pro if that feature is necessary for some.
