Anyone ever had an issue with the speaker on this camera??? Talking from my phone to the camera used to work fine but not the speaker on the camera is really really really low.

Crap. I jumped in on this. My 3rd one. These things are addicting.

I currently have two of each running and there are very few differences. Software for one even controls the other. (Haven't been brave enough to try flashing firmware across brands though.)

How long have you had them running? I'm curious as to how it holds up long term. Seems they offer 1 year warranty whereas Foscam offers a 2 year limited warranty.

Only a couple months now but the cameras really seem like they came out of the same factory. I think with Foscam you're paying more markup for the US based importer with support and longer warranty versus a pure importer like those on aliexpress. At these prices though, I'm not sure there's much point.

There are several variations available at that same link if you search for "ip camera wifi" etc. Prices vary quite a bit without much logic. The ones I have are branded HooToo, and have wired terminals for alarm triggers that my foscams do not.

It may be a knock-off, of a knock-off of a discontinued Foscam fi8908w that is years old, and does'nt have the ir-cut, or wireless N. Ordering it directly from China ought to be a lot cheaper actually. Don't expect any support, or firmware updates, or a warranty that means squat.

It's not comparable to the fi8910w in this post, that has had multiple firmware updates, and a user base that is huge.

Wow. I'm not sure where the sensitivity about these things comes from. I'm just letting on what I ran into.

My foscams actually are the same as those in this post; FI8910W, purchased from an earlier SD. My HooToo (heh) are what I'm comparing them to. Those also have multiple firmware and software upgrades from the company website. They're impressive, really. I've directed both out the window on a sunny day to check sensitivity and the results are extremely close. I would judge the Foscam as having a slightly better image but blind testing I couldn't tell the difference. None of these things approach a good ccd in image quality so, unless there's a wide variation in batches I'd call that moot. I did mention the support, but again, at these prices they can't do much for anyone before they go out of business. If someone's shopping for pro equipment neither of these cameras qualify. As a baby/pet monitor, or fun, they're indistinguishable from one another.

I made my comments based on the one you linked above. Which I don't believe is even a knock-off of the Foscam model in this post.

Right. There seem to be 50 variations of nearly identical cameras. So much is similar between the cameras I have it's eerie. The software and firmware was obviously from the same base code. Foscam has slightly better artwork in their httpd UI, but the version it replaced was pretty much identical to HooToo's current version.

When the company doesn't have an investment in a US operation there's always the issue of consistency and quality, and foscam may be able to motivate their suppliers better than the aliexpress vendors. It's clear they have better support for those who need it. For hobbyists, a few of each might be the ticket. With that, I've ordered three more through different aliexpress vendors. I'll report back here, good or bad.

make us a youtube video showing comparative images side by side . love to see if ir filter is designed the same.
