Have any of you complaining about lag on these bumped up the clockspeed? I was really tempted to pick up a TF700 on CL last night for this price.

That was the only thing that could make my OG Nook Color usable as a full Android tablet. Battery life was already decent so I didn't notice much of a bump (didn't modify voltages).

I rooted my tf700 and installed browser2ram and the stock browser speed is almost as fast as my desktop browser. Rooting is very easy and if you know how to install programs on your pc, then rooting should be no biggie. In terms of lag, I have not experienced any lags. Everything seems fluid and the sd slot is a plus for those wanting to expand storage without paying for the high cost of the bumped up hdd. I got the dock and and the tf700 for 450 (this includes CA tax) and it works really well. Battery is very good and is close to the time that asus gives you. With 1gb of ram, yes I did complain in the beginning but after using it, android manages multitasking exceptionally well so 1gb is plenty. I've ran 12 apps one time and still had 240mb left. For those interested in the tf series, I highly recommend it.

some ihater issue you got there going on buddy? I have absolutely no preference as far as brand goes OR OS if thats what you mean. I get what the hell works best. I have owned almost every tablets out in market this specific tab is included, though I didnt have a dock, why would that matter at all. Also, where the heck did I say that this was a bad price or anything?

BB used to had it for $299 with dock and I returned.

bought one of these on craigslist for 200. immediately rooted and put a custom ROM on it and I don't experience any of the lag people are complaining about. I would recommend this in a heart beat as long as you plan on customizing it.

this is my first time using ebay and i made an account and paypal. i do not remember where i placed my check boxes so i dont have a routing number. i used 2 debit cards, and 2 credit cards (i asked my dad for his permission and my own credit card).

I cosigned with my mom and i know we have a good credit line (she barely buys anything, usually buys with cash, not credit).
Both of my debit banks both have sufficient amount to purchase (even with pending/processing, i still have enough).

I bought a used one from Cowboom that was in real bad shape, cosmetically. It was really responsive, though. I returned it and got a brand new one from BB for $290 after a price match. That one refused to connect to wifi due to the metal backing. I returned that one and traded even money for the TF700 via the Manufacturer's Defect Warranty.

The lagging is not the clockspeed or the RAM, it's the slow ass internal storage that is being used, when multiple things are being written.

Only way to "fix" that is to install a 3rd party ROM that does some of the things mentioned there. CleanROM in particular seems to really make this tablet sing.

Oh, right on. If a ROM can resolve the lag issues then I see no problem at all.

No-brainer, I guess I'll pick-up that $350 TF700 since it looks to be the same solution.

The resolution on that is 1024 x 768. This TF300T is 1280x800.

Very true, but the TF300 goes for +$150 and comes with less memory and an inferior CPU. As long as you don't need to use your tablet outside alot, a regular IPS screen should be fine especially for this price point (not to mention, super bright IPS drain batteries...).

It's all relative. It depends on the intended use. It can be a basic browsing tablet or a video viewing tablet. If resolution is not an issue then it is a nice solution.
