Just by looking at these two laptops. I don't know why anyone wouldn't get the Amazon one over the Newegg one. Why was this not posted? lol Last edited by cHaNg-sTa; 02-15-2013 at 08:31 PM.. |

The difference is not as bad when you are right next to the router, but still there is a difference. He said he hasn't noticed it being super slow, but he only has the U310 (so nothing to compare) and lives in a studio apartment. I noticed this issue the first night I had the computer. Windows updates and what not were noticeably, excruciatingly slow to download. And I saw 9 hours for battery life on the Amazon deal...wow - that is wayyyyy off. From a full charge and using intermittently at work on the most battery saving settings, I got about 5 hours. Last edited by ndm2p8; 02-16-2013 at 06:50 AM.. |

Based on my research, and I have done quite a bit because I tried to convince myself to keep this laptop, it seems like there is a design flaw with the placement of the wifi card. Even after the units were repaired and the MAJOR wifi issue was fixed (signal dropping, only able to use internet within 10 feet or a router, < 1 mg dl speeds) their "fix" just makes it slightly better. I am pretty sure that my unit IS "fixed," as the internet is certainly usable and signal doesn't drop, but the speeds are inexplicably much, much slower, even when the wifi connection is showing full strength. So weird. Amazon wouldn't be a bad idea since their return policy is so good...but for me, this laptop has been nothing but a headache. Was looking at the Amazon reviews and saw this from a really long, positive review "But since the computer boots in about twelve seconds and is pretty fast in all respects, I don't see why you'd bother." No clue what this dude is talking about. My Lenovo takes ~2 minutes to boot. When I had Windows 8 installed it took ~3. It was another reason I am returning. I figured the SSD would help to speed things up but time to boot is ridiculous. Downloaded Soluto to see what was up and nothing really came of that. And that same reviewer says it is capable of playing some high end games...again...this is verrrrrry far from a gaming laptop. The 610M is a pretty weak card. It is a bit better than the integrated, but not by much. Last edited by ndm2p8; 02-16-2013 at 07:02 AM.. |

I think I will go with the 510 from Staples for $100 cheaper.
