actually CCI is normally expensive, Standard Velocity is good stuff too especially for supressors. .22 is always out of stock for about a month after Christmas. has something to do with a lot of people shooting theirs over Christmas with the family in the south, combined with, what I hear, factories shut down over the holidays to renovate and repair so they can crank out 3 million rounds a day just to keep up with demand the rest of the year.

Or even better yet for those that have paid months in advance $250.00 (which is non refundable) for their concealed carry class and now have no ammo to take the class with (requires 100 rounds to pass class) I shouldn't get ammo for them eather and I guess 15% is a scandelous charge for hours of my time finding the ammo and the trek to deliver it....... Your just a little mad that you wont be able to afford your hobby I guess???? Might want to relook at the word KARMA which means "To Do" and has nothing to do with "Fate" "This is emphatically not the correct understanding of karma. It is possible that this misunderstanding of karma has come about because of the popular idea that we have about luck and fate. It may be for this reason that our idea of karma has become overlaid in popular thought with the notion of predestination. Karma is not fate or predestination." http://www.buddhanet.net/e-learning/karma1.htm SHINY CAPTIAN

Furthermore, your CCW qualification argument is bullshit, who CCWs a 22? |
|

Thank you for that insight, Remington Robin Hood. Since you seemed confused at the concept..I'll simplify it for you: Don't come crying when your sleazy ways comes and bites you in the a$$. |
|
|
Also, just like it being illegal to qualify for a CCW in Texas with anything smaller than a .32. Who CCWs a .22? I second that too! |

Easy there, did I say I was selling it at $0.15 a round or did I just say that's what people are paying around here? 15% on $0.07/rd is $0.08 which then gets sold at $0.09/rd in the store. Just because I say people are paying a certain price around here doesn't mean that's what they have to pay when I can find some "cheap for the times" like this. My ammo references were to reveal the panic buying that is happening, not what the shop is selling it at that I work with. Maybe you should take your zealousness and do some good instead of blowing smoke on this forum. Write Natchez and Cheaper Than Dirt who are actively selling ammunition at $0.19-$0.30 a round for BLANKS! They are definitely the ones who are setting the market. Direct your attention to the real problem creators. http://ammoseek.com/?gun=rimfire&...oblanks=on Again, deamnd is very high as well as cost and that probably makes you mad. I'm sure those commodity spectulators make you mad as well when you pay more at the pump and the grocery store. The facts are the facts and this is the time we live in. Just pray this doesn't happen to water or food! Idea: Stop shooting, stop driving, and stop buying groceries and then you will become a real advocate for lower prices and a help to the problem. But wait, you were looking on this thread to buy, which increases demand... Hmmmmmmm Final thoughts: Has anyone considered the astronomical national debt and the devaluation of our dollar? You don't think that the high rate of inflation recently has any play in this increase in prices on a highly demanded item? And if it is money you wnat to make, go open a trade account and buy some stock in S&W and Ruger (which are both publically traded) because when earnings come out this quarter, they could both shoot up 20%. Then you won't be so sad about those high ammo prices. |

.22 LR for Self-Defense? http://www.shootingillustrated.co...f-defense/ I'm sure you know that many gun manufacturer's make a 22 pistol including the M&P22 by S&W. Just take a tour of any ammunition plant you you will see that the 22 is not the 22 of our childhood and is testing almost as effective a 9mm through ballistic gel. Many more women are taking the CCW class as well than traditionally and feel more comfortable with a 22 handgun. So you may want to check with your CCW instructor and check to see if they have noticed an increase in the number of people qualifying on a 22 pistol. There is no caliber requirement for CCW class in my state. A little internet research will easily show that the 22LR is becoming a self-defense round as well as plinking. |

Why not raise the prices to meet demand? That way if someone TRULY needs ammo, it will be available to them. He's actually providing a very valuable service. |

I've been trying to make a fair trade for some 22LR for a month and can't find anyone willing to part with any. I figured with the shortages, there would be people out looking to trade for what they need, but with the 22LR, nobody seems to want to let any go unless they are making a huge profit.
