and all of them will need ammo for their new guns .. and the hoarders get nervous and they buy a little more also .. and the normal folks get nervous from the news and they buy a little more .. and everyone stocks up a little more and are willing to pay a little more than they should ... and it just keeps being a vicious cycle... with no end in site... ![]() |

Looks as if the mods here are removing any posts that discuss the REASON for the Crazy rush on ammo. And don’t you dare say CIVAL WAR on Slickdeals or they will delete that post too. Hmmm maybe it’s because they can’t get paid any commission from Amazon for referrals with ammo when the dollar becomes valueless. I know for a fact that the population’s disposable income has been moving to ammo and gun purchases. I bet if they were honest, Slickdeals is seeing a decline in consumer product purchase. I know I have been buying hardly any consumer products since the gun and ammo crisis. I’m sure that this post will be deleted as well, but that’s why I’m taking a screen shot to prove it existed. Why can’t the mods let there be a fair and balanced view? Looks like they want to control what you see and read.

Well I hope prices for gas to go way up. $10.00 per gallon. I have plenty of disposible income and don't need to drive far to go anywhere so high cost won't affect me much. The more it cost to drive means less traffic and less people on the road. Less people on the road = less people become fatalities due to crashes and dwi. See how stupid you sound? This thread is about ammo availability not your distaste for 2nd amendment. Police won't be there 24/7 to protect you. Its a right to protect yourself and family against criminals. How much is your life worth? And besides, comparing to the stockmarket... purchasing ammo for me done me very well. The large amount of ammo early last year practically doubled and tripled in value less than a year. And learning from the past, Ammo will never go back to the old price but stays higher. Way better investment than the stockmarket....... which I frankly is overpiced and is not even aligned with reality right now. Last edited by doinky; 02-15-2013 at 08:01 PM.. |

a lot of the new gun sales are to new buyers most of which are not going to be stockpiling ammo, especially since when they bought their gun, ammo was already out of stock. the veteran gun owners were the ones that did the stockpiling and the ones who caused the ammo shelves to go bare. The real issue is that those same shelves were never really restocked since they initially went bare so everyone is blaming it on the hoarders. It's true that hoarders are the reason for bare shelves but only initially. |

And having a good high disposible income and very little monthly bills helps. Increased food and gas prices won't impact me much as someone that lives paycheck to paycheck. Which the majority of Ammericans already are. |

What you're doing is buying retail, marking it up, and selling it again. This creates three problems.
You're buying something and selling it for a profit, it's not complicated. But spare us the "good deed" spin. I'm on here providing reference for prices. It's the same as if an Xbox Live Gold card or a bulk-pack of paper towels or a solid state drive were posted. Not buying ammo at these prices is my choice and I'm trying to make others aware of the fact that they don't have to panic grab any ammo they see at any price. Yes, I have a supply at home but that supply was fulfilled during non-crazy times. I'm simply not going shooting as much because I'm not able to back fill my supply as easily. Lexal is simply a dude trying to make a buck. If he bought a crate of 1,000 .223 for $600 from a retailer and sold it for $700 in person or on craigs, he's going to do it. That doesn't mean I have to be happy about the fact that he's contributing to the problem.
If you're speaking of an uprising from the working class, I can see that. But it's not going to last long. |

Second off, who is getting the funds? Just because a state gets more Fed dollars than it gives, doesnt mean its true. Florida for example, has many retired seniors, who arent contributing anything, yet are collecting their SS benefits. Who is on disability? 3rd off, what political party is getting those funds? Are Democrat voters or Republican voters getting the Fed dollars? There isnt a single recorded statistic by the CDC or Census Bureau that details who is getting welfare or disability and what political party they are. The closest we can guess is that if they are black, since 97% voted for Obama, any black people that receive welfare is 97% certain to be a Democrat. So again, WHO is getting the Federal dollars in those Southern states? But I digress, I kinda agree with you... if there ever were to be a civil war again in this country, it wouldnt be Noth vs South, it would be between workers and slackers. Slackers would riot in the streets and demanding morre handouts and entitlements, and the workers who own guns (majority of them) would be picking them off at a good clip. Thats just my opinion. They might overpower me, but barring any catastrophic malfunction of all my guns, I know I will get 30-50 before they can get to me.
