every time I think about buying a new monitor to replace my 26" Samsung that I've had 4-5 years, I get sticker shock. I paid less than $400 for that monitor several years ago, and it's going strong. I thought prices would come down, but they seem to have gone up over those years. Guess I'll pass for now.
If I didn't have a great monitor, I'd be all over this one. Sounds like a dang good deal to me. |

This monitor needs to come down a lot more in price, you can get the much better U2713H for about the same price (not directly from dell).

This does not look like a good deal. I mean it's considerably less than the suggested retail price of $1150 but it's still not a very slick deal.

This is going to sound like a stupid question so please forgive me..I just don't know enough about monitors and was really curious about it. Why would a monitor like this cost so much?

It's about double that of an IPS 24", which is about what it's always been. Also, 27 is the first level of WQHD(2560 x 1440), so there will be a spike there as well. I run 2 shimians and are pretty happy with those, but then again i've never seen these in person. |
