He was referring to his upgrade from his Air. Although it is a slight upgrade, I guess you really gotta know if it's worth it for yourself especially without a dedicated GPU but this is a way better deal than that refurb one.

true it's probably not a huge upgrade, i currently have the 256gb air 2011 version. I've ran into the hdmi problem quite a few times on the air. the screen is mainly what i'm going for. If I sell the air for around $1000, the difference will be close to $500....eh now I'm regretting upgrading for that price difference.

Yea I'm in the exact same position as you are. 2011 Air also but a base model, basically a $500 upgrade which is the same as new air vs new retina in store. What made me not purchase the retina was because many people said it's not that great, if you go retina you should get the 15" at least for now since the 13" isn't that great at running everything. A 13" Retina is just pretty much a better screen air performance wise.
