No it doesn't fit the Kindle Fire HD. Several reviewers mentioned it in the amazon reviews.

I bought one of these for the regular 7" Kindle (non-HD) and it covers a lot of the controls on the screen when playing games. I wouldn't recommend it.

Are you sure this is the same one? The pictures dont seem to show that it covers any of the front side at all. Xbox Live: Eat ur Corpse

I have this one, got it at Target on clearance a while back. Does it's job just fine. Mine doesn't cover any useable portion of the screen.can play all the games just fine. My 4 year old has dropped my fire a few times with this case on & so far no damage to my fire. For < $5, it's a good deal
