Question is...Is the monitor a separate line-item on the invoice

It's not a bad deal for sure. If there wasn't one for $649 minus the monitor (1080 yuck) and blu-ray and 1TB vs this one's 2TB, this would be a better deal.

I suppose if someone needed a monitor, and wanted blu-ray, this isn't bad at all. Not a fan of this monitor, but it is also $100 less then the deal that included the 2412, so...

Examined the deal and even called Dell reference the seperate line item for the monitor (price is labeled $259, even though Dell is selling it for $199 (and even cheaper at $189, elsewhere). asking them to lower the price - they said, no.

This deal was already a slickdeal listed before - but only a few comments on the deal. Don't get upset that it was a previous deal,. it needed further discussion.

With the lower end video card (7570), NOT many of us (as above mentioned) like the deal. Cost of upgrading is $75 (if I remember rightly). Hoping that they have some better deals in the next month.

Have been monitoring the deals & coupons on 8500, even at Dell Outlet. One deal that Dell advertised was a $500 coupon discount for a Special Edition 8500, that had to have the exact price of $1475. I found a few outlet models at $1479, but I never saw one priced exactly at 1475. Very strange.

Thx for the legwork on this one. I'm ready to pull the trigger on an 8500 but haven't been monitoring prices long enough to feel comfortable following through. I should have been a participant rather than spectator on the 8500 minus second line item monitor...

Because of all the complications and that of my needs; I will have to get an 8500,
I will wait for future deal, rather then the current ones out there. Current ones seem to expire on President's Day. There was a $551, 8500 outlet - which disappeared in one day, and with no coupons (that I knew of). Each of current 8500 deals has something basically wrong with it - either the video card, a i3 deal when a i7 is just $50 more. I do not need a
24 inch monitor - and if offered with a monitor/8500 deal I want a monitor that is a little better.

Several past deals & "error deals"(microsoft) I passed on because I didn't realize yet that I needed a computer deal, much to my regret. That there will be some future deals - yep - bide your time and good luck.

It has got more RAM, no blu-ray - I don't know much about the graphics card on these two and the monitor

Could someone explain which is a better deal?

FYI - Went to outlet with the 25% off (discount outlet coupon) and bought a scratch & dent, i7 for $749 with discount and an additonal disocat (2%) for about $585, with tax. Everytime (twice) I have bought a scratch & Dent ; I didn't find the scratch or dent. Figured with a semi decent 2TB and the 7570 - I saved a little money.
Still figure that the outlet prices (upper ones) are way to high even with the 25% discount.

I notice that if you need a monitor get the upgrade 27 inch for $50 more.
