Cowboom pre-owned Kindle Keyboard Wifi + 3G $45 shipped plus tax

It shows a blank page if there isn't anything available on cowboom. (Sold out).

I don't trust Cowboom, besides I got it new for 47 + tax at Toys R Us a little over a month ago as a gift for my mother-in-law. Nothing like free 3G worldwide for a retired reader...

It wasn't even marked on shelf. I had sales associate scan it since it was behind glass and couldn't use my iphone app. Still showed up as regular price ($80). Was buying it anyway with some other stuff which I had a few expiring coupons, rang up as $49.99 and with coupon it was $47.50.

Don't know if there are any left, you can check that previous thread for inventory checker.

I want one just for the free 3G worldwide. Atleast I can check email and facebook. Then said 3g browsing to limited 50MB per month.

Yeah, but don't expect much from it. I got one of these a while back hoping for minimalist basic browsing with free 3g. I found it dropped to edge data rates very often, even in areas with very strong at&t 3g signals. Its slow, the browser can't handle all sorts of stuff, and I pretty much gave up on it after a few days as even an emergency basic browser. I guess if you had to occasionally google something or check wikipedia for some fact, it'd be okay. Problem with really occasional use is you have to keep it charged and available...

Hm... that's good to know. This is the relevant line at Amazon now.

"The Experimental Web Browser is currently only available for some customers outside of the United States and may be limited to 50MB of browsing over 3G per month. This limit does not apply when customers are browsing over Wi-Fi."

So they are saying that the browser may not even work anymore. Supposedly this has been the policy since July. I have definitely used mine outside the US and for over 50MB/month since July. The amount I browse with images et al, I'd be shocked if it wasn't at least 50MB/day. I have had multiple Kindles since the start including my Keyboard. I even buy books for it. Maybe I'm grandfathered in.

If indeed the 3G is capped or turned off overseas. That basically eliminates the appeal of this. Why not just get a newer model for new which has been on sale for around this price?
