i agree the price point is great but i dont mind spending a little more for future proofing + a quiet card

i thought this price point was something i couldnt walk away from...at $150 its a no brainer. at $220, and then dealing with a sale for potentially 30-40, only brings it down to 180. the 180-240 space is pretty crowded with video card deals, all be it mostly with MIR. according to tomshardware, this card and the 660ti perform about the same and here is a 660 ti deal that was only $180. so it appears this 180 price point is the bottom right now for this tier. i believe i've seen numerous 660ti deals for 220-240

Yes it will work. I'm upgrading from a 4870 which is equivalent to your 5770. It's one hell of an upgrade.

better to just have one stronger, faster gfx card

Fan noise isnt a big deal. For some reason it gets loud when monitoring it via MSI afterburner. I prefer HWiNFO64 Program since both give accurate values.
