I bought the 7870 Tahiti last night, thought about it, and cancelled my order. The noise and power it consumes (a bit more than a 7950) doesn't bother me too much, but i rather spend another $80 and get a 7950 and overclock it to match a 7970 or higher. In for one. Fan probably isn't any louder than the one I have on the 285 GTX this will be replacing and I've been wanting to pick up a new card that can handle lossless audio over HDMI.
I can always add a custom heatsink later if the heat and fan noise bugs me too much. |

you'd have to run 3 monitors at higher than 1080 settings (in which case you'll probably be wanting 2+ cards anyhow) |

Great rebate Companies:
Patriot Memory (4myrebate.com): 6 Weeks Tiger Direct (4myrebate): 3 weeks Rain-X (in house): 3 weeks BAD BAD MAIL IN REBATE COMPANIES: Xigmatek 26 weeks, 14 emails, 2 phone calls (finally received) NZXT 21 weeks, 4 phone calls. Check that was finally received was dated 2 months earlier with a 90 day expiration on it, giving me about 25 days to cash it. Shady shady shady. |

also SLI does not give you increased memory. if you SLI together two 2GB cards, you dont have VRAM performance that is comparable with a single 4GB card
|
